Dodamsambong, considered the highlight of Danyang’s Eight Scenic Views, is famous for its breathtaking three rock peaks rising from the river. You can admire them up close on a sightseeing boat. Songnisan in Boeun and the nearby Beopjusa Temple area are well known for beautiful temple grounds and brilliant autumn foliage, while Cheongju, the province’s largest city, serves as a convenient travel base.

Spring and autumn are especially beautiful, with the mountain and river landscapes at their finest. Danyang, with its caves and striking scenery, is particularly well suited for nature-focused travel.

Some of the most popular routes include Dodamsambong and Mancheonha Skywalk in Danyang, Cheongpungho Lake in Jecheon, downtown Cheongju and Suamgol, and the Chungjuho Lake area. With its many mountains, lakes, and scenic viewpoints, the province is ideal for travelers who want to focus on natural landscapes.

Cheongju and Chungju are relatively accessible by public transportation, but getting to scenic lookouts and lakeside attractions in Danyang and Jecheon can involve longer travel times. If you plan to visit several natural attractions, renting a car or joining a local tour is usually the most efficient option.

If you are only visiting Cheongju, a day trip is possible. However, if you want to see Danyang, Jecheon, and Chungju as well, at least 2 days and 1 night is recommended. Since the destinations are spread out, it is best not to pack too many cities into one trip.

Popular photography spots include Dodamsambong and Mancheonha Skywalk in Danyang, the lakeside scenery of Cheongpungho in Jecheon, and scenic viewpoints around Chungjuho Lake. The river and lake landscapes are especially rewarding on clear days.
