If you plan to focus on the East Coast cities such as Gangneung, Sokcho, and Yangyang, a 2-day, 1-night trip is possible. However, if you want enough time to enjoy Seoraksan, the beaches, café streets, and traditional markets at a relaxed pace, 3 days and 2 nights is recommended. Since travel times between areas can be longer than expected, it’s best to keep your itinerary compact.

Sokcho and Goseong are great for experiencing both Seoraksan and the East Sea, while Gangneung is ideal for combining beaches, cafés, and traditional markets. Yangyang is especially popular with travelers looking for surfing and beach getaways.

Yes, central areas in Gangneung and Sokcho are accessible by express bus, KTX, and local buses. However, if you want to connect multiple spots such as mountains, beaches, observatories, and cafés, bus intervals can be long, so it’s a good idea to also consider renting a car or using taxis.
