Good to Know

For a city-focused trip to Daegu, 2 days and 1 night is usually enough. Grouping together Kim Gwangseok-gil, Dongseong-ro, Seomun Market, Apsan Observatory, and Suseongmot Lake makes it easy to enjoy a balanced mix of food, shopping, and night views.
Daegu is famous for grilled beef tripe (makchang), flat dumplings (napjak mandu), ttaro gukbap, braised short ribs (jjimgalbi), and muchim hwe, a spicy raw fish salad. Seomun Market, Anjirang Gopchang Alley, and the Dongseong-ro area are great places to look for local specialties.
Daegu tends to be quite hot in summer, so spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for outdoor sightseeing. If you visit in summer, it is best to plan around indoor cafés, shopping, and nighttime observatory stops.
Apsan Observatory, Suseongmot Lake, and E-World 83 Tower are some of Daegu’s best night-view spots. Since they are all easily accessible from the city, they are perfect for a casual evening outing after dinner.
