Meet Jeongseon’s high-altitude ski resort at 424 Haiwon-gil

High1 Resort Ski Resort is located in Gohan-eup, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon State, and its official address is 424 Haiwon-gil, Gohan-eup, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon State. However, Valley Condo and Ski House are listed separately at 500 Haiwon-gil, so when traveling by car or taxi, you should distinguish whether the destination is the Ski House rather than the accommodation building.

This is not just a ski resort but a comprehensive leisure facility with a golf course, water park, and accommodations. The resort includes the High1 Grand Hotel Main Tower and Convention Tower, High1 Palace Hotel, Mountain Condo, Valley Condo, and Hill Condo. The two hotels and three condominiums are introduced as having a total of 1,577 rooms.

18 slopes starting at 1,345 m atop Jijangsan Mountain

High1 Resort Ski Resort has slopes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers. The beginner slope starting at the 1,345 m summit of Jijangsan Mountain on the slopes of Baegunsan Mountain is introduced as being 4.2 km long, and the resort has 18 slopes in total.

Three gondolas and seven lifts form the connection network between the slopes. Mountain Top at the summit is approximately 1,340 m above sea level, and the revolving restaurant at the summit is described as completing one rotation per hour.

Visitors who do not ski can also take a gondola to the summit to view the snowy fields and mountain scenery. The area is introduced as a place where wild edible greens can be seen in spring and wildflowers in summer, making it possible to enjoy the mountain landscape outside the winter season as well.

Open from 09:00 to 22:00; unavailable during slope grooming from 16:00

The ski resort’s operating hours are listed as 09:00–16:00 during the day and 18:00–22:00 at night. The period from 16:00 to 18:00 is reserved for slope grooming, so the ski resort cannot be used during this time. If planning an afternoon pass, you should leave these two hours open.

Time-based lift passes take effect from the moment the gate is first passed. According to the official fare information, a 3-hour pass costs 66,000 won, a 4-hour pass costs 73,000 won, a 7-hour pass costs 86,000 won, and an all-day pass costs 111,000 won.

If the 16:00–18:00 slope-grooming period is included during your visit, you can extend your use by two hours. Operating hours and prices may vary by season, so plans should be based on the notices for the relevant season on High1’s official ski page immediately before departure.

Lift passes are not available for children under 5

The child age category for lift passes is from age 5 through 13. Since lift passes and ski pass tickets are not sold to children under 5 to prevent safety accidents, visitors with young children should first calculate the applicable age Criteria.

Visitors bringing their own equipment are advised to wear outdoor equipment. Since moving indoors while wearing equipment may be inconvenient on site, it is safer to plan equipment storage and fitting around the Ski House.

Lift passes have a separate application method for ski resort usage hours, so it is best for everyone in the group to finish preparing before passing through the gate. When use extends across the slope-grooming period, the two-hour extension policy applies.

Use Un T’an-godo and the Crystal Cable Car without skiing

Visitors who do not ski can use the sightseeing gondola. The Un T’an-godo sightseeing gondola costs 20,000 won for adults and 16,000 won for children. The child category for the cable car is from age 3 through 13, and infants under 24 months ride free.

The Crystal Cable Car costs 22,000 won for adults and 16,000 won for children. Ski lift passes and sightseeing gondola or cable car tickets are separate products, so non-skiers who only want to see the summit scenery do not need to purchase a lift pass.

Mountain Top at the summit is approximately 1,340 m above sea level, and the revolving restaurant completes one rotation per hour. Companions who do not ski can take the gondola to the summit and enjoy warm drinks and views of the snowy fields on a separate itinerary.

Use Cheongnyangni Station and Gohan-Sabuk Public Bus Terminal as starting points

From Seoul, it takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes by train from Cheongnyangni Station to Gohan Station. By bus, the journey from Seoul to Gohan-Sabuk Public Bus Terminal takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, from Daegu approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes, and from Busan approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes.

By bus, it takes approximately 4 hours from Incheon International Airport to Gohan-Sabuk Public Bus Terminal. Rather than assuming that foreign travelers can travel directly from the airport to inside the resort, it is clearer to set Gohan-Sabuk Public Bus Terminal or Gohan Station as the first destination.

The official transportation information provides travel times to the station or terminal, but the bus route number and internal shuttle intervals from Gohan Station or the terminal to the Ski House have not been separately confirmed. Therefore, if you have a lot of equipment, it is more practical to plan the itinerary to include vehicle transportation for the final leg.

If you plan to store equipment for an extended period, distinguish between regular lift passes and locker sales.

Separate closing days, areas with photography restrictions, whether cash-only payment applies, the availability of English information or audio guides, and specific routes and recommended stays for wheelchair and stroller users were not confirmed in the available materials. Visitors for whom these conditions are important should inquire at 1588-7789 and plan their itinerary around the ski resort operating hours of 09:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:00.
