The Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026 with Hanwha will be held around Yeouido Hangang Park on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event address is 330 Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Yeouido Hangang Park Yeouido Information Center, and admission for the general public is free. Whether separate reservations are required for general admission has not been confirmed, while the Nodeul Island Orange Play Zone requires separate paid ticket reservations. Changes for this edition include new tower fireworks using Wonhyo Bridge and a symmetrical decalcomania display on both sides.

How the 2026 Wonhyo Bridge tower fireworks change viewing points

The 2026 fireworks show will run for 70 minutes from 20:00 to 21:10, with teams from the United Kingdom, the United States, and South Korea participating. The UK team Pyrotex Fireworx will present “Colours Reimagined—Bloom Again” from 20:00 to 20:15.

The US team Ace Pyro will perform from 20:20 under the theme “Instrumental Illumination—Darkness, Beyond,” and South Korea’s Hanwha Corporation will present “The Starry Night—A Puzzle of Light” for approximately 30 minutes from 20:40. There is a 20-minute gap between the US team’s start and the South Korean team’s finale, allowing visitors to watch the teams’ productions separately.

This edition newly introduces tower fireworks using Wonhyo Bridge, along with a decalcomania display in which fireworks spread symmetrically across the sky over the Han River on both sides of the bridge. Scenes expressing the words “SEOUL,” “HANWHA,” and “NETFLIX” with fireworks have also been announced.

Separate from free general admission, the entirety of Nodeul Island will operate exclusively as the Orange Play Zone in 2026. Nodeul Island tickets cost KRW 110,000 for Zone 1, KRW 165,000 for Zones 2 and 3, and KRW 220,000 for Zone 4, with a maximum of five tickets purchasable per person.

Planning travel during the nine-hour Yeouidong-ro closure

On September 5, 2026, Yeouidong-ro will be closed to traffic for nine hours from 15:00 to 24:00, from the southern end of Mapo Bridge to the area in front of 63 Building. When entering the event address into a map app, use 330 Yeouidong-ro, Yeouido Hangang Park Yeouido Information Center as the destination.

Detailed public transportation routes and temporary shuttle service information have not been confirmed. If traveling by car, guidance recommends reserving a nearby parking lot in advance through Kakao T Parking, but parking fees by lot and the time each lot may become full on the event day have not been disclosed.

The main fireworks show ends at 21:10, but the after-DJ performance continues from 21:10 to 22:00, and a clean-up campaign takes place throughout the event site from 21:10 to 23:00. Event information states that departing 30 minutes after the end can allow for a relatively less crowded journey home.

Because the last-train times and travel times from stations and terminals to the site have not been confirmed, it is difficult to determine from this information alone whether a same-day trip is possible. For same-day itineraries returning outside Seoul, it is safer to assume they are not feasible and secure accommodation first.

From the 13:00 Multi Plaza program to the 23:00 clean-up campaign

From 13:00 to 19:00, citizen-participation programs will run for six hours at Multi Plaza in Yeouido Hangang Park. An official event will take place for 20 minutes from 19:40 to 20:00, including introductions of distinguished guests, welcome and congratulatory speeches, and an opening ceremony.

The fireworks show begins with the UK team at 20:00, followed by the US team at 20:20 and the South Korean team at 20:40. After the fireworks, there will be a 50-minute after-DJ performance, and from 21:10 to 23:00, Hanwha volunteer groups will collect litter throughout the event site.

If you want to listen to theme music synchronized with the fireworks outside the event site, you can use the Orange Play smart app. Hanwha TV, the official YouTube channel, is also scheduled to provide an online livestream of the Yeouido fireworks show.

Approximately 5,000 personnel for safety management and order maintenance and 1,200 Hanwha employee volunteers are scheduled to be deployed, with 94 temporary restrooms installed. The types of food booths and accepted payment methods, such as cash or cards, have not been confirmed.

Constraints to anticipate in advance at the Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026

The 2026 information does not disclose operating procedures in case of rain or cancellation and refund policies. Accessible routes for wheelchairs and strollers have also not been confirmed, so travelers requiring mobility assistance should separately verify routes at the site.

Whether English signs, leaflets, or interpretation services will be available has also not been disclosed. Introductions of guests and welcome or congratulatory speeches may be language-dependent, but the 70-minute fireworks show and music through the Orange Play app can be enjoyed mainly through the event schedule and visual productions.

The schedule running from 13:00 to 23:00 and the undisclosed last-train information may be burdensome for travelers who find late-night travel difficult. Based on the currently available information, it is also difficult to plan for travelers who require a quiet viewing environment, confirmed wheelchair or stroller routes, or English guidance.

Before departure, check the official website on September 5, 2026, for rain-related policies and public transportation changes. If necessary, contact the operations office at 02-519-9778 to ask about accessible routes and reservation requirements.
