Farm Kamille is a herb farm on gently rolling hills at 56-19 Uun-gil, Nam-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, not far from Mongsanpo Beach. The name ‘Kamille’ is the German spelling of chamomile, and the word chamomile originates from a Greek expression meaning ‘apple of the earth.’ Rather than presenting itself as simply a flower field, the farm focuses on connecting herbs with everyday materials such as tea, food, dried flowers, soap, and jam.

According to the official information, more than 200 species of herbs, over 500 species of wildflowers, grasses, and wetland plants, and more than 150 species of shrubs grow here. Taean-gun’s master plan materials describe the site as covering 39,600㎡ and classify it as a tourist farm with gardens, a herb workshop, experiential spaces, and accommodation facilities. Its location on a gentle hill in Nam-myeon, reached by sea breezes, makes it possible to combine a botanical-garden walk with an itinerary along the beaches of the West Sea.

A walking order for exploring 13 gardens, from the Little Prince Garden to the Water Garden

The official map presents 13 areas: Little Prince Garden, Rose Garden, Romantic Garden, Cake Garden, French Lavender Garden, Lavender Garden, Thyme Garden, Kitchen Garden, Chamomile & Sage Garden, Water Garden, Castle Garden, Event Garden, and Green Shop. First-time visitors may find it easiest to understand the terrain by starting at Little Prince Garden near the entrance, passing through Cake Garden and the central lavender area, and continuing to the Water Garden.

Little Prince Garden is an area where flowers and herbs are planted on seven small hills, complemented by fountains and statues. The Water Garden was built around an ecological pond, while Wind Hill has pinwheels and an observation deck. The brick building in the garden was used as the exterior of a café in the drama ‘Missing: The Other Side’ and is currently used as a pension, so its interior is not open to general visitors.

Chamomile in May, lavender and hydrangeas in June–July: dates to check before the flowers

In May, chamomile, daisies, poppies, and blooming Japanese snowbell trees are highlighted as seasonal plants, while lavender and hydrangeas are the main seasonal attractions in June and July. The 2026 Hydrangea Festival has been announced for June 13 through July 26. Because there are areas with clearly defined planting themes, such as the Chamomile & Sage Garden and French Lavender Garden, it is best to choose the timing according to the purpose of your visit.

From March to May and August to October, the herb farm is open from 09:00 to 18:00, with ticket sales ending at 17:30. In June and July, it opens an hour earlier, from 08:30 to 19:00, with ticket sales ending at 18:00. From November through February, it operates from 09:00 to 17:30, with ticket sales ending at 17:00. The café, foot-bath shop, and herb shop follow the same seasonal schedules.

KRW 11,000 in March and KRW 13,000 during hydrangea season: admission and Tuesday closures

The standard admission fee for visitors of middle-school age and older is KRW 11,000 from mid-March through June 18, KRW 13,000 during hydrangea season from June 19 through July 26, and KRW 11,000 from July 27 through November 30. For elementary-school students aged 8–13, the respective fees are KRW 6,000, KRW 7,000, and KRW 6,000. From December 1 through mid-March, admission operates as a beverage package instead of a standard admission ticket.

The beverage package combines admission with an Americano or herbal tea, while the foot-bath package includes admission, an aroma foot bath, and a beverage. From May through October, package users can choose lavender or chocolate soft-serve ice cream. From the third week of April through October, the farm operates without a regular closing day. From November through the second week of April of the following year, it is regularly closed every Tuesday. It is listed as open on public holidays, Lunar New Year, and Chuseok.

See Mongsanpo from the windmill and finish with herbal tea and a 20–30-minute foot bath

The windmill at the far end of the farm is an observation point overlooking both the herb farm and the sea toward Mongsanpo. The Korea Tourism Organization’s introduction explains that the farm and sea can be seen from the observation deck. Because the route goes up and down hills and through gardens, it is more practical to allow 1.5–2 hours rather than trying to move through it quickly like a flat indoor exhibition hall.

The herb shop and café sell herbal teas and herb products, including lemon verbena, chamomile, and peppermint teas. The aroma foot bath involves soaking the feet in water mixed with rose salt, lemon salt, and aroma oil, and takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Groups wishing to use a beverage package or foot-bath package are asked to make an advance reservation.

KRW 4,000 for small dogs and KRW 6,000 for large dogs: what to know before using the dog playground

Admission for companion dogs is KRW 4,000 for small dogs and KRW 6,000 for large dogs. Farm Kamille operates a walking area covering 12,000 pyeong, along with a separate dog playground. The playground is described as having safety fences, basic training equipment, a dog swimming pool, drinking fountains, eco-friendly artificial grass, and rest areas.

The Animal Garden has cashmere goats, rabbits, donkeys, geese, and other animals, and animal feed is sold at the ticket office. Visitors without dogs can also see both the animal area and herb gardens, but including animal feeding, a garden walk, and a foot bath may make the visit last more than two hours. Accommodation with companion dogs is separately available at Little Prince Pension on the central hill of the farm.

Take buses 723, 732, or 735 from Taean Public Bus Terminal; Mongsanpo Beach is five minutes by car

By public transportation, take rural buses 723, 732, or 735 from the Taean Public Bus Terminal stop, get off at Mongsan 2-ri or Machimje Stop, and walk about 350 m. Getting off at Mongsan 1-ri or Geureutjeom Stop requires a walk of about 650 m. Taean Passenger Transport can be contacted at 041-675-6674–5. Considering the intervals between rural buses, it is practical to allow more time than when traveling by car.

By car, enter from the Seosan IC of the West Coast Expressway toward Taean and Seosan, then approach via Seohae-ro, Anmyeon-daero, and Sinjang Interchange toward Mongsan-ri and Uun-gil. Parking is reportedly available on site. The detailed scope of wheelchair and stroller routes and foreign-language information services has not been confirmed in the official information. Mongsanpo Beach is about five minutes by car from Farm Kamille. Mongsanpo, within Taean Coast National Park, is known for its gentle beach, pine forest, and tidal-flat experiences at low tide, making it suitable to visit the farm in the morning and continue to the beach in the afternoon when the tide is right. Mongsanpo Bakery outside the Farm Kamille ticket office can be used without a farm admission ticket.
