TWICE’s Chaeyoung to leave JYP… “Pursuing independent music activities while continuing group activities”

TWICE member Chaeyoung is leaving JYP Entertainment to pursue independent music activities.

On the 13th, Chaeyoung posted a handwritten letter on her social media, stating, "I want to create my musical journey in my own 'LIL FANTASY' world."

Chaeyoung also expressed her gratitude to JYP and the TWICE members. She said, "I am grateful to the people at JYP and the TWICE team for supporting and believing in me, a mischievous girl, for 14 years," adding, "I also want to tell the members who have always supported me and given me strength that I am grateful to and love them."

She emphasized that her activities with TWICE will continue. Chaeyoung said, "Above all, I will continue my activities with TWICE without change," adding, "I believe the reason I have received so much love is because of the time I have spent working as TWICE, my roots." She continued, "I hope that both Chaeyoung of TWICE and Chaeyoung of 'LIL FANTASY' can become people who bring precious music to your lives in the future."

Chaeyoung debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015. TWICE has been active in Korea and abroad, releasing songs such as 'CHEER UP' and 'TT' one after another, and renewed their contract with JYP in 2022.

Last September, Chaeyoung released her first solo album, 'LIL FANTASY vol.1'.

Separate from the group's activities, TWICE continues discussions with JYP regarding the members' individual contracts. Member Jeongyeon recently signed an exclusive contract with BH Entertainment, the agency affiliated with her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon. Jeongyeon, whose real name is Yoo Jeong-yeon, is also planning to pursue acting activities.
