An Overnight Stay at the Top of Noeul Park: Reservations, Luggage Transport, and Check-Out Times for Seoul’s Noeul Campground

Noeul Campground is a private-tent-only campground located at the top of Noeul Park in Mapo-gu’s World Cup Park. It operates from April 1 to November 30. Since cars cannot be driven to the campsites, you should plan your route from the parking lot, including the electric shuttle and walking sections, before making a reservation.

Overnight stay atop Noeul Park, opened in May 2010

Noeul Camping Site is located at 86 Haneulgongwon-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, at the beginning of the summit area of Noeul Park within World Cup Park. The Seoul Metropolitan Government opened the site on May 1, 2010. At the time, Noeul Park had originally been developed as a golf course before being returned to citizens in 2008. The park was named “Noeul Park” because of its evening scenery opening toward the lower reaches of the Han River.

The camping site currently operates on a bring-your-own-tent basis and does not rent items such as tents, sleeping bags, or mats. Basic facilities at the sites include restrooms, showers, drinking fountains, outdoor tables, and fire pits, with separate areas for electricity and areas without electricity. Pets, smoking, use outside designated spaces, and disruptive behavior are prohibited.

April 1–November 30, check-in at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00 the next day

The operating period is from April 1 through November 30 each year. The site is closed every Monday; if Monday is a public holiday, it is closed the following day. During bridge holidays, the day after the holiday period may become a closure day, so check the date status on the actual reservation screen as well.

Check-in on the reservation date is from 14:00, and check-out is by 12:00 the following day. Entry to the camping site is not possible after 22:00, so it is unsuitable for late-arrival itineraries. Same-day cancellations or changes are not allowed merely because of rain, but if operations are suspended due to weather alerts such as heavy rain or typhoons, or for safety reasons, a full refund or suspension during use may be provided.

Reservations open at 14:00 on the 15th of each month, with competition for one site per person for the following month

Reservations for the following month open at 14:00 on the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a weekend or public holiday, reservations open the next day. Same-day reservations are also available online only until 12:00 on the date of use. Each person may reserve a maximum of one site, and the maximum stay is two nights and three days.

If payment is not made within 48 hours after booking, the reservation is automatically canceled. From two days before the date of use, the payment deadline is shortened to two hours. Group reservations are available only on weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday; group reservations are not accepted on weekends, public holidays, or the day before them. Because the person who made the reservation must enter the site, it is advisable to prepare a passport or other means of identity verification.

Differences between electric sites and Area C: fire pits are available, but tents are not

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s site map, Area A is to the left of the entrance, Area D is straight ahead, and Areas B and C are positioned above Area D. Area C is a non-electric area. If you need electricity, check during the reservation process whether the area allows electrical use. If a quiet outdoor stay is your priority, you can choose a non-electric area.

According to past Seoul Metropolitan Government guidance, the regular site fee was 10,000 won per night, with an additional 3,000 won electricity fee. Site fees and the number of electric sites may be adjusted each operating year, so use the product details and prices on the official reservation page immediately before payment as the final reference. Even though fire pits and tables are provided, visitors must bring their own firewood, cooking equipment, tableware, lighting, and rain gear.

A 10-minute walk from Noeul Park Parking Lot; if you miss the Maengkkongi electric vehicle, you have to walk

For drivers, it is practical to set “Noeul Park Parking Lot” at 108 Haneulgongwon-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, as the destination. The camping site is an auto-camping facility, but regular vehicles cannot enter all the way to the sites. After leaving your car at the parking lot, you can either walk approximately 10 minutes to the camping site or take the paid Maengkkongi electric vehicle.

By public transportation, one route is to take express bus 9707 from Exit 8 of Dangsan Station on Subway Line 9, get off at the Nanji Hangang Park bus stop, and walk approximately 356 m. Another option is to take bus 7011 from World Cup Stadium Station on Line 6, get off at the World Cup Park 3 Complex·Nanji Cheon Park stop, and then either take the electric vehicle from the Nanji Cheon Park parking lot area or walk approximately 1.2 km, or about 23 minutes. Carrying a large tent and cooler by public transportation can be burdensome.

Calculate the 2,000-won one-way Maengkkongi electric vehicle fare together with the 22:00 nighttime entry limit

According to past Seoul Metropolitan Government guidance, the electric vehicle inside Noeul Park cost 2,000 won one way and 3,000 won round trip for adults. Recent Seoul Metropolitan Government public reservation information also lists the fare from Noeul Park Parking Lot to the upper area of Noeul Park as 2,000 won one way and 3,000 won round trip. Since walking is necessary after service ends, take particular care when planning a late check-in or an outing at night.

In the past, parking was listed at a flat rate for one night and two days: 5,000 won on weekdays and 10,000 won on weekends and public holidays, but on-site operating policies may change. Visitors with vehicles and luggage should calculate the parking fee, round-trip electric vehicle fare, and camping site fee separately. After arriving at the parking lot, it is advisable to prepare a cart, backpack, or folding wagon so that luggage does not have to be carried several times.

How to connect Noeul Park, Haneul Park, and Peace Park on the same day

Noeul Camping Site is in Noeul Park, part of World Cup Park, which is connected to Haneul Park, Nanji Cheon Park, and Peace Park. Before check-in, it is efficient to organize your luggage at the parking lot and first familiarize yourself with the routes in the upper area of Noeul Park. After checking out the next day, you can then move on to Peace Park or Haneul Park.

Access to Noeul Park and Haneul Park may be restricted from sunset to sunrise to protect nocturnal plants and animals. Therefore, rather than planning to move around the parks at night, it is better to complete any necessary travel before the 22:00 entry deadline while remaining inside the camping site. If you use a wheelchair or stroller, or need mobility assistance, slopes and electric vehicle availability may affect access. It is advisable to ask the management office about same-day access conditions before making a reservation.

Not suitable if you want to bring pets, pitch a tent beside your vehicle, or stay in winter

Pets are not allowed in the camping site, and vehicle traffic within the park is restricted. Therefore, if you expect auto-camping with a tent pitched right next to your vehicle, you should look for another facility. In winter, the site is outside its regular operating period, which runs from April 1 through November 30, so it is also unsuitable for winter stays.

The inquiry phone number is listed as 02-304-3213 for the Noeul Camping Site management office, and Seoul’s general information number is 120. The official information page is https://www.seoul.go.kr/storyw/campingjang/noel.do, and availability and final prices for each date should be checked again on the reservation screen. Dedicated English or multilingual assistance and consistently available accessibility facilities could not be confirmed, so foreign visitors should prepare a translation app, reservation details, and a mobility plan in advance.
