40-Minute Performances from Exit 7 of Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5

With foreign friends, I would choose the Gwanghwamun Square Forest stage first. The event's representative address was 172 Sejong-daero, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and from Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5, visitors could follow the Haechi Madang connecting passage toward Exit 7. Each Gwanghwamun Square performance lasted 40 minutes, so arriving later than the start time made it easy to miss important parts of the performance. There was a 20-minute gap between the 12:00 and 13:00 performances, so it was best to choose one performance and plan around a lunchtime walk.

This event did not take place in one fixed venue but moved among roughly 50 locations across Seoul. Performances linked to Seoul Forest operated on a walk-in basis, and the 16:00–16:40 performance scheduled for July 26, 2026, was still marked as “scheduled” at the time. Guseokguseok Live suited people who enjoyed the act of traveling around Seoul itself more than travelers looking for a one-off large-scale performance by a famous singer. Visitors could experience locations with distinct characters, such as the Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway, Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul Forest, and Hangang parks, together with music, instrumental, performance, and traditional stages by 150 performance teams.

Because the performances were free, they were easy to add to an itinerary without putting pressure on the schedule, but the event did not provide extensive public information about on-site amenities or the scope of English support. Starting at the subway-accessible Gwanghwamun Square, watching one 40-minute performance, and then slowly walking around the statues of Admiral Yi Sun-sin and King Sejong made an ordinary afternoon in Seoul feel a little more rhythmic.
