‘100 Days of Lies’ depicts a 100-day espionage romance that unfolds when Gyeongseong’s top pickpocket, who has become an undercover agent, and an elite interpreter at the Government-General of Korea encounter each other in the heart of enemy territory. The premise of an undercover agent planted by the independence army is added to the subject of “interpretation,” which simultaneously embraces truth, lies, and secrets, foreshadowing a distinctive sense of tension. In the released infiltration teaser, Lee Ga-gyeong appears as a pickpocket showing off dazzling sleight of hand at Gyeongseong Station. As she says, “I’m definitely going to America,” her sole reason for saving money is to get to the United States. Then one day, Yoo So-ran (played by Kim Hyun-joo), who became entangled with her as a pickpocketing target, offers, “I’ll send you to America. Kim Yoo-jung plays Lee Ga-gyeong, who dreams of going to America and infiltrates the Government-General of Korea as an interpreter trainee after becoming an undercover agent for the independence army while saving money. Park Jin-young plays Sato Hideo, the adopted son of the Director-General of Political Affairs, as well as Kim Tae-woong, a newly appointed interpreter at the Government-General of Korea who returns to Korea after more than ten years. Kim Hyun-joo plays Yoo So-ran, a marksman for the Gugangdan who carries both Korea’s independence and personal revenge in her heart, while Lee Moo-saeng plays Yoo Philip, a Gyeongseong correspondent who pressures the Director-General of Political Affairs while holding Korean-American status. Jin Seon-kyu takes on the role of Sato Shinichi, the second-in-command at the Government-General of Korea who will stop at nothing to advance his career and the Gugangdan’s primary target, creating a tense confrontation. Lee Ki-young, Choi Deok-moon, Seo Jeong-yeon, Kim Do-hyun, and Kim In-kwon also join the cast, adding to the production’s polish. Produced as a 16-episode series, the drama was also selected for the “AI and Digital-Based Broadcast Program Production Support” project by the Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Radio Promotion Association.

The drama is directed by Yoo In-shik, who has proven both commercial success and artistic quality through the ‘Dr. Romantic’ series and ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’ ‘Dr. Romantic’ reached a peak rating of 27.6% in Season 1, 27.1% in Season 2, and 16.8% in Season 3, joining the ranks of mega-hit productions. ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ likewise sparked a syndrome after starting in the 0% range on a new channel and rising to a final rating of 17.5%. The screenplay is written by Ryu Bo-ri, who has delicately portrayed characters’ emotional arcs through ‘Do You Like Brahms?’ and ‘Trolley.’ At the script reading, the actors and production team observed a moment of silence honoring independence activists before reading through the script, drawing attention.
