Mistake? Turns out it was No. 3… “BLACKPINK Jisoo dug her own grave” [Star Issue]

Disputes over the alleged misconduct involving Jisoo's older brother, a member of the group Blackpink and actress Jisoo (Kim Jisoo), have continued day after day.

Jisoo's older brother, Mr. A, was arrested in the act and is under investigation on charges of forcibly molesting a female internet broadcaster BJ. In addition, accusations have been raised that he is a husband who committed domestic violence, sexual violence, confinement, water torture, verbal abuse, and more, following revelations by his wife, Ms. B. Last year, he was also mentioned as someone who had been suspected of illegal filming.

As the controversy grew and Jisoo's name was brought up as well, Blisoo, Jisoo's one-person agency, stated its official position on the 20th through lawyer Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang Law Office, its legal representative.

Jisoo's side emphasized, "The issues currently being raised are entirely unrelated to the artist (Jisoo) and Blisoo," calling them "clearly false claims." They also explained, "The artist began trainee life at a young age and became independent early on, living apart from her family for a long time, so she is in no position to know about or be involved in that individual's private life."

They continued, "The claims to the effect that 'the artist and that individual founded this together' or 'that individual is a member of Blisoo's management or its CEO' are completely untrue. That individual currently has no legal or business relationship whatsoever with Blisoo."

They also added, "During the process of preparing to establish Blisoo, the artist did receive some limited advice from family members and help as a conduit for conversations in order to consult with related parties. However, from that time until now, no family member has ever received compensation from Blisoo or participated in decision-making. Since then, it has been run completely independently, with no connection whatsoever to family members."

They warned of legal action, saying, "Blisoo and the artist are not providing any financial or legal support to that individual. There are no plans to provide such support in the future either. In addition, we are not engaging in any exchange or involvement related to this matter." They added, "We will respond strongly, without any leniency or settlement, to malicious or repeat posters and distributors."

However, unlike Jisoo drawing a line by referring to her older brother as "that individual," traces of the title "representative" alongside her older brother's name were found throughout his activity history, raising further questions.

The report says that in the credits for Jisoo's recent work, Netflix's "Monthly Boyfriend," as well as last year's Coupang Play "Newtopia" and Jisoo's solo fan meeting, her older brother's name was listed as "Jisoo Management Representative."

As voices demanding clarification grew louder, the "Monthly Boyfriend" side released an official statement on the 21st, saying, "Shortly after the work was released, in early March, we confirmed that there was an error in the actor management credit in the work's credits due to a mistake by the production company. We immediately took corrective action."

However, reactions online continue to say that this explanation of a "mistake" is hard to accept.
