'BLACKPINK' Lisa ripped up the World Cup opening ceremony…fans around the world 'went wild'

[Sports Seoul | Reporter Park Chan-hyung] K-pop artists captivated soccer fans around the world by gracing the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Lisa, a member of the group BLACKPINK, appeared on the U.S. opening ceremony stage held on the 12th (local time) at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA, and delivered a powerful performance.
Lisa performed the official World Cup album track “Goals” together with Brazilian singer Anitta and Nigerian artist Rema. In particular, Lisa, who opened the stage, appeared in a white outfit and heated up the atmosphere on site with flawless live vocals and a dazzling performance.
Lisa, who moved across the field with numerous dancers, showed an overwhelming presence and demonstrated her stature as a global star. This is the first time a K-pop girl group member has performed live on the World Cup opening ceremony stage.

On the previous day, another K-pop artist had also made an appearance at the Mexico City Stadium in Mexico.
Singer-songwriter Jea also performed the World Cup official theme song “DNA” alongside world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli. Taking the stage in a blue halter-neck dress, Jea drew cheers from the audience with her explosive vocals.
In particular, the inclusion of Korean lyrics in which Jea directly participated drew attention. The lyrics, “Even if I fall again, I get back up again,” echoed in front of soccer fans around the world and delivered a deep resonance.
As Lisa’s performance and Jea’s Korean-language singing continued, this World Cup opening ceremony was praised as a stage that once again confirmed K-pop’s global influence.
Meanwhile, after ending her exclusive contract with YG Entertainment last year, Lisa has continued her solo activities, while BLACKPINK group activities are ongoing with YG Entertainment. Jea recently participated in work on the OST for the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, expanding her presence in the global music market.
In addition, as it became known that BTS is scheduled to appear on the halftime show stage of this North and Central America World Cup final, K-pop’s World Cup momentum is expected to continue beyond the opening ceremony all the way to the tournament’s final moment.
