Since guidance warns that parking spaces may be insufficient on weekends due to the increase in visitors, allow for waiting time on Saturdays and Sundays during peak bloom, and avoid blocking walkways with tripods or large equipment.

Wiyangji was once called “Yangyangji” or “Yangnyangji.” A marker near Chilamgyo Bridge, which leads to Wanjaejeong Pavilion, is inscribed with “Yangnyang Chilamgyo,” and local reports explain that Wiyangji’s former name was Yangyangji based on this evidence.

Miryang City budget documents list two restrooms and streetlight maintenance at Wiyangji. However, specific information about foreign-language guidance, wheelchair-only facilities, or stroller rentals could not be confirmed in official materials, so it is advisable to inquire about conditions on site in advance. If you are only taking photographs, allow 40 minutes to 1 hour; for a leisurely visit including the embankment and surrounding village paths, about 1 hour and 30 minutes should be sufficient.

A Half-Day from Wiyangji to Miryang Hyanggyo and Yeongnamnu Pavilion

Miryang City’s recommended two-night, three-day itinerary moves from Yerim Seowon and Chuwonjae to Wiyangji, then continues to Gasan Reservoir and Miryang Cheese Story. If you would like to focus on the area around Wiyangji, you can also visit Miryang Hyanggyo in Bubuk-myeon, or travel to Yeongnamnu Pavilion in the city center to compare the scenery of the Miryanggang River with pavilion culture from the Joseon period.

For a meal or rest, consider businesses with verifiable addresses, such as “Yeolmaega Pureunnal” at 17-25 Wiyang 2-gil near Wiyangji. However, its operating hours were previously listed as 10:00–18:00, with Mondays closed, so confirm separately whether it is open on the day of your visit. Wiyangji is not an urban-style tourist destination with a dense concentration of restaurants and cafés, so it is better to prepare water and simple snacks in advance.
