Jamsil Hangang Park: Jamsil Underwater Weir and Natural-Style Water Playground

A 4.8 km riverside stretch from Jamsil Railroad Bridge to Yeongdong Bridge

Jamsil Hangang Park is located along the southern bank of the river between Jamsil Railroad Bridge and Yeongdong Bridge. Its official area extends from Seongnaecheon Bridge (the southern end of Jamsil Railroad Bridge) to the center of Yeongdong Bridge. For first-time visitors, the simplest access point is Exits 3 and 4 of Jamsilnaru Station on Subway Line 2. It is about 400 m from the exits, or roughly an 8-minute walk, and visitors enter the park via a pedestrian overpass.

From Exits 5 and 6 of Jamsil Station on Lines 2 and 8, walk straight toward the Han River for about 800 m, then use the Jamsil interchange; the walk takes approximately 15 minutes. From Exit 7 of Jamsilsaenae Station on Line 2, it is about 700 m, or roughly a 10-minute walk. Head toward the Han River and enter through the Jamsil interchange.

Bus routes serving the vicinity of Jamsil Station include 301, 302, 303, 320, 341, 342, and 360, while routes 3411, 4318, 16, 30-3, and 30-5 serve the area near Jamsilnaru Station. The Hangang Bus can connect to the park after getting off at the Jamsil Pier.

Jamsil Hangang Park is open year-round, and park enforcement operating hours are 00:00–24:00. Administrative operating hours at the Jamsil Information Center are 09:00–18:00, so telephone inquiries and administrative matters should be handled during those hours.

No general park admission fee was identified on the official page. The Jamsil Water Park operates on a paid, on-site-visit basis. If you plan to fish, bait fishing with dough or fish meal, using four or more fishing rods, and snag fishing are restricted. In other words, this is not a place where you can fish in any preferred manner anywhere along the riverbank, so check the restrictions before preparing your equipment.

The Jamsil Nature Learning Center is next to the natural-style water playground in front of the Jamsil Information Center. It contains 45 species of woody plants, totaling 2,030 plants, and 80 species of perennial herbs, allowing visitors to explore vegetation different from the park's large riverside lawns.

Here, visitors can see native Korean wildflowers such as pasque flowers, false goat's beard, and Korean rosebay, as well as the growth process of crops such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, tomatoes, and sponge gourds. For travelers who want to observe seasonal plants in an urban park in Korea, this is a good spot to combine with the Jamsil fishway.

Next to the nature learning center are a sand playground, a lawn rest area, a forest walking trail, and the Water Light Path, along with traditional open pavilions. Rather than walking through the entire park, focus on the facilities in front of the information center to connect plants, the water playground, and rest areas within one zone.

Actual usage conditions for Jamsil's natural-style water playground from June to August

The natural-style water playground is next to Parking Lot 2 of the Jamsil Information Center. During its operating period from June to August, visitors must obtain an admission ticket before entering. It includes Wonderful Pool, Joy Pool, and a toddler pool, so the admission procedure differs from that for a general park walk if your purpose is water play.

When the water playground is not operating, the natural-style water playground is open year-round. The natural-style stream facility can be used from 12:00 to 18:00 every Tuesday through Thursday from April to October. The sand playground, lawn rest area, forest walking trail, and Water Light Path are also around the water playground.

In 2026, the Jamsil Water Park operates from June 19 through August 30 and is listed as a paid, on-site-visit facility. It is a 15-minute walk from Exit 7 of Jamsilsaenae Station, or a 6-minute walk after parking in Parking Lot 2 or 3 of Jamsil Hangang Park. The inquiry numbers are 02-3431-8475 and 8476. The 50% parking-fee reduction for pool users was discontinued in 2021.

Volleyball, basketball, and foot volleyball: KRW 4,000 for a two-hour reservation

Jamsil Hangang Park has volleyball, basketball, and foot-volleyball courts, as well as a track plaza, youth plaza, fitness areas, a beach-volleyball court, and a lawn-bowling facility. As of 2026, four fitness areas, one lawn-bowling facility, and one inline-skating area are in operation.

Volleyball, basketball, and foot-volleyball courts are all listed at KRW 4,000 per two-hour session. Lawn bowling is free and available on-site. Four parking lots and the closed Jamsil Parking Lot 4

Jamsil Hangang Park has four parking lots with a total of 387 spaces, operating from 06:00 to 24:00. Jamsil Parking Lot 1, beneath Jamsil Bridge, has 137 spaces. Parking Lots 2 and 3, at 65 Hangaram-ro in front of the information center, have 53 spaces. Parking Lot 5, next to the water playground, has 197 spaces.

Parking costs KRW 1,000 for the first 30 minutes and KRW 200 for every additional 10 minutes, with a daily maximum of KRW 10,000. Parking lots are opened free of charge on the day before, the day of, and the day after Lunar New Year and Chuseok. Water-playground users are directed to Jamsil Hangang Park Parking Lot 5.

Jamsil Parking Lot 4 is listed as closed from March 2025 through May 2030 due to the International Exchange Complex road improvement project. Parking lots may flood during typhoons, floods, or torrential rain, so overnight parking should be avoided. A fine of KRW 50,000 may be imposed for parking outside designated areas.
