To photograph an aircraft together with the horse lighthouses, it is safer to check wave conditions and safety controls first and remain along the coastal walking area rather than climb onto the breakwater.

1800s Tewoo Rafts, the Tidal Weir, and Iho Mosalwon

“Tewoo” refers to a Jeju-style raft boat made by lashing together several logs. According to official Jeju tourism information, tewoo rafts were used to catch seaweed such as gulfweed and Ecklonia cava, as well as damselfish, in nearby waters, and are believed to have been used since the 1800s. Route 452-1 runs in a loop from Dodoo-dong Dori Elementary School through Iho Tewoo Beach, Hyeonsa Village, Naedo-dong, Oedo Buyeong Apartments, Nohyeong Cathedral, Sinjeju Elementary School, the Yeondong Community Service Center, and the Jeju Folk Five-Day Market before returning to Dodoo-dong. A nearby accommodation’s transportation information states that a taxi ride from Jeju Airport takes approximately 15 minutes, although this varies with road conditions. Pets are not allowed to enter the water. For people who find crowds and movement across the sand during the swimming season burdensome, or who need to avoid the irregular rocky paths on the breakwater and tidal weir, it is more practical to plan a 40–60-minute visit focused on the paved walkway near the horse lighthouses.
