TWICE North America Tour Draws 550,000… New Record for K-pop Girl Groups

Twice has made a new chapter in K-pop girl group history by drawing about 550,000 concertgoers with its North American tour alone.

Twice is currently carrying out its world tour, 'THIS IS FOR,' to great acclaim around the world. Beginning in Incheon and passing through Asia and Australia, the North American tour, which kicked off in January this year, ran a total of 35 shows in 20 cities through Austin on April 18, completing the group's largest North American tour to date.

A total of 550,000 fans attended the North American tour alone, making Twice the K-pop girl group with the highest-ever attendance in North America and setting a new record. The group had originally planned 22 shows in 20 cities, but added more dates as tickets sold rapidly. They added one more show in Vancouver, Seattle, Oakland, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Belmont Park, Hamilton, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, and Austin, and two additional shows in Los Angeles, coloring the city with Twice's energy for four days.

This tour, which opened the stage 360 degrees to all seats, offered audiences a three-dimensional concert experience and heightened the excitement. At each mega-hit performance, including 'I CAN'T STOP ME,' 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,' 'The Feels,' and 'FANCY,' fans responded with powerful cheers and applause.

In addition, the members' solo songs, the mini album Strategy, the 14th release, which enjoyed long-running popularity on the U.S. Billboard main chart 'Hot 100,' and tracks from Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters original soundtrack, 'Strategy' and 'TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG_),' were added to the setlist, bringing the concert atmosphere to a climax.

At the end of the Austin show on the 18th, the final stop of the North American tour, a special video prepared by local fans was screened, moving the audience. The members said, "We are now heading toward the end of April, and since starting the North American tour in January, we have done more than 30 shows. It really feels like it's over when our ONCEs tell us we worked hard. Thank you to all the fans who came to see Twice."

Twice, which set another record in North America, is now poised to set a new one in Japan as well. On the 25th, 26th, and 28th, the group will hold three shows over three days at Tokyo National Stadium, becoming the first overseas artist in history to headline the venue solo. Japan's National Stadium is a massive venue that can hold about 80,000 people per show, and Twice will challenge the record as the first overseas artist and the first girl group from Korea to do so.

Twice, which began its performances in halls and arena-sized venues from 2018 to 2020, became the first K-pop girl group to perform three consecutive days at Tokyo Dome in 2022, and later held solo concerts at four major local venues in 2023: Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome. In 2024, the group also became the first K-pop girl group to enter Nissan Stadium, Japan's largest venue.

As Twice marks the 9th anniversary of its official debut in Japan this year, it is expected to once again prove its fandom power, public appeal, and ticket-selling strength through its stage at Tokyo National Stadium.
