Allegations of lax military service: Song Min-ho delays his first trial, spotted at a VIP screening of a movie

WINNER's Song Min-ho, who has been sent to trial on allegations of inadequate military service, was spotted at a movie theater, drawing attention.

On March 14, online reports said that the day before, Song Min-ho attended the VIP screening of the film "Method Acting" held at the Seoul COEX Megabox.

In the photo, Song Min-ho had his face covered with a hat and mask. Song Min-ho is well known for being close friends with Lee Dong-hwi, the lead actor of "Method Acting." It appears he visited personally to support Lee Dong-hwi.

However, because he is facing trial on charges of violating the Military Service Act, some criticized the move as inappropriate.

Since March 2023, Song Min-ho has been serving as a social service agent and is accused of violating the Military Service Act, including not properly reporting to his workplace.

Song Min-ho was referred to the prosecution in May last year on charges of violating the Military Service Act, and the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office indicted him without detention on December 30 last year. He reportedly largely admitted to leaving his workplace during duty hours during the police investigation. The manager of the alternative service facility, Mr. A, was also sent to trial on charges of abetting his neglect of duty.

According to an exclusive report by the JoongAng Ilbo on February 12, the prosecution stated in the indictment: "While working as a social service agent at the facility management corporation and community convenience facilities in Mapo-gu, Song Min-ho was absent without leave for a total of 102 days and abandoned his service without a valid reason."

Song Min-ho's first trial was scheduled to be held on the 24th at the Seoul Western District Court, but his side requested a postponement and the court accepted it, changing the date to April 21.
