SHINee Key: From piercings to bleached hair—“radical transformation”…Returns after 6 months amid “Jusaimo” controversy

[Sports Chosun Reporter Lee Ji-hyun] As SHINee is gearing up to release a mini album for the first time in about 13 years, member Key, who had paused activities amid controversy over the so-called 'Jusaimo' and allegations of illegal medical treatment, has appeared in a new look after about six months.

On the 11th, SHINee's official account released a video titled "SHINee SHINee 'Atmos' Schedule Film | ATMOS WEATHER".

In the video, Key appears first, transformed into a weather caster to introduce the comeback schedule. With short bleached hair and a distinctive piercing style crossing the center of his nose, Key caught attention.

In particular, Key appeared with a concept that moved between a news anchor and an on-site reporter, creating playful chemistry with the members through his unchanged variety-show charm.

Previously, in December last year, Key received medical treatment at a hospital and at his home through an acquaintance's introduction, but the person in question was later revealed to have no medical license, sparking controversy. In response, Key stated through his agency, "I believed that person was a doctor, and I did not realize that receiving treatment at home would be a problem. Through the recent controversy over their medical license, I learned that they were not a doctor, and I deeply reflect on my ignorance," and announced that he would step down from all programs he was appearing on and suspend his activities.

As a result, he left all variety shows he was then appearing on, including MBC's 'I Live Alone' and tvN's 'Amazing Saturday,' and spent time in self-reflection.

Meanwhile, SHINee's mini album 'Atmos' is scheduled for release on June 1, and before that, they will meet fans through the 'SHINee WORLD VIII : THE INVERT' concert, which will be held for three days from the 29th to the 31st at KSPO Dome in Olympic Park.
