[Official] Ailit returns with the 'longest word in the world' listed in the Guinness Book... Announces new album on April 30

[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Ha-young] The group Illit (ILLIT) returns with a new release after about 10 months.

The agency BelifLab announced on the 16th that Illit (Yuna, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) will release their new album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' (Mamilhapinatapai) on April 30. The title track is "It's Me."

Illit successfully concluded the first tour 'ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥’ in SEOUL' (hereinafter 'PRESS START') at the Ticketlink Live Arena in Seoul Songpa-gu (formerly Handball Gymnasium) on April 14–15. With unwavering live skills, outstanding performance capabilities, and relaxed stage manners that heated the venue, they shared this news near the end of the final day's performance, sending fans into a frenzy.

The new album's title is unique. 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' is a word derived from the language of the South American Yaghan. Listed in the Guinness Book as a word with one of the longest meanings and difficult-to-translate, it refers to the subtle, quiet, and urgent exchange of glances between two people, in which each hopes the other will voluntarily do something that is necessary for both but that neither particularly wants to do themselves.

Fans' curiosity is growing about what music and concept Illit will present with the new release. In particular, the tour schedule continues after the Seoul performances to Aichi on June 13–14, Osaka on June 20–21, Fukuoka on June 29–30, Hyogo on July 18–19, Tokyo on July 23 and July 25–26, and Hong Kong on August 22, raising expectations for fresh stages.

At the Seoul shows that kicked off the tour, Illit delivered a solid musical world over approximately 120 minutes, performing material from mini albums 1–3 as well as all tracks from their first single album. The structure, which unfolded like progressing through game stages, and the kitsch pixel art production further engraved their unique sensibility and aesthetics—what has been dubbed 'Illit core'—leaving fans anticipating Illit's "level up."

Members' special stages actually became a hot topic. The mission song 'Desperate' from the audition program that produced Illit, 'R U Next?', was performed by Yuna, Minju, and Iroha, while Moka and Wonhee performed 'Scrum' as a unit stage, once again showcasing their wide musical spectrum. The members said, "It was overwhelming and emotional, as it reminded us of the time we ran toward our dreams."

Illit also premiered the performance for the hip single album track 'NOT ME' and left a strong impression with an encore stage that repeatedly performed 'oops!'. As the show progressed toward the end, Illit ramped up the atmosphere to its peak; during the 'oops!' stage they descended into the audience to get closest to fans and sang the song passionately for about 10 minutes, pouring out explosive energy.

Illit said, "Thanks to GLLIT (Gllit, the fandom name) who joined us, we were able to press our start button. With our second debut anniversary coming up soon, 'PRESS START' became an opportunity that made us resolve to work even harder." Meanwhile, all performances of 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥' in SEOUL' sold out on the pre-sale day, and additional restricted-view seats were opened for both days, reflecting the intense enthusiasm for them.
