'No. 1' BTS, 13-track new album achieves simultaneous entry on Billboard Hot 100

According to the latest chart from U.S. music trade Billboard (April 4 issue) released on the 31st of last month, BTS's fifth full-length album 'ARIRANG' title track 'SWIM' rose to No. 1 on the main songs chart 'Hot 100'. In addition, of the 14 total tracks, all 13 vocal tracks except the interlude track 'No. 29', which contains the bell sound of the Seongdeokdaewang Sinjong, succeeded in charting.

Seven songs placed within the top 50. Led by No. 1 'SWIM', 'Body To Body' (25), 'Hooligan' (35), 'FYA' (36), 'Normal' (41), 'Aliens' (47), and '2.0' (50) claimed spots in the upper ranks.

The new album is filled with various genres such as hyper jersey club, soul pop rock, and alternative hip hop. Agency BigHit Music explained, "That all vocal tracks entered the 'Hot 100' is evidence that their music satisfied listeners with a wide range of tastes."

The group's performance on the 'Billboard Global' charts was also overwhelming. 'SWIM' topped both the 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding U.S.)' charts, marking the group's eighth No. 1 on each. Especially on the 'Global (excluding U.S.)' chart, they swept positions 1 through 13. This surpasses pop star Taylor Swift putting nine songs in the top 10 in October 2025, and Bad Bunny placing two songs in the top three in February. Billboard also reported that this is the first time in the publication's history that a single artist has completely occupied the upper ranks of that chart.

According to U.S. entertainment industry data firm Luminate, 'SWIM' reached 108.8 million streams and 221,000 in sales, claiming No. 1 on the 'Global 200'. This momentum spread across the album, with a total of nine songs, including the title track, simultaneously entering the Top 10. This is the most weekly Top 10 entries since Taylor Swift in May 2024. As a result, BTS has accumulated 20 and 21 songs respectively in the Top 10 of the 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding U.S.)', the most among groups worldwide, the agency added.

'ARIRANG' also topped the main album chart 'Billboard 200' (April 4 issue). With 641,000 album units, it recorded the highest weekly sales for a group album in about a decade. It is the first time BTS has simultaneously topped both the 'Billboard 200' and the 'Hot 100' since their 2020 seventh mini album 'BE' and its title track 'Life Goes On', about six years ago.
