Lisa reveals her true feelings right after leaving BLACKPINK… “It was so hard, the pressure was immense”

[Sports Chosun reporter Lee Ji-hyun] BLACKPINK's Lisa expressed her deep affection for the members with whom she shared a decade since their debut, while also opening up about the pressure she felt during the process of going solo.

On the 9th, the official trailer for the feature-length documentary 'Always Lalisa' was released.

In the released video, Lisa playfully looks at the camera and asks, "Do I look like a rock star?" before reflecting on the time she spent with BLACKPINK.

Lisa especially drew attention by saying, "I've been with BLACKPINK for 10 years," and, "Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé are my soulmates." Having shared a long journey with the members since debuting as BLACKPINK in 2016 and growing into global stars, she described them as her "soulmates," showing that their bond remains strong.

However, the trailer also fully captures the pressure faced by "solo artist Lisa," rather than BLACKPINK's Lisa, as she forged her own path. Recalling her hectic schedule, Lisa says, "There really wasn't a single day off." She also candidly says, "It was hard because there was so much pressure."

Although people around her told her, "You don't have to push yourself this hard," a moment is also shown in which Lisa responded, "No. I can do it," and pressed ahead with her activities.

The documentary also captures the moment she first stood in front of a camera as an actress. Lisa visited the set of season 3 of the HBO series 'The White Lotus,' and when the person she met for the first time greeted her with, "Hi, Lisa," she showed an expression blending nervousness and excitement.

Near the end of the video, Lisa says, "I'm finding myself. A new me." This demonstrates that the heart of the documentary lies in her process of briefly stepping outside the BLACKPINK framework and finding her own identity, rather than focusing on her glamorous image onstage.

Meanwhile, 'Always Lalisa' is a feature-length documentary following the year Lisa spent independently during a temporary pause in BLACKPINK's group activities. It covers the production and release of her solo studio album 'Alter Ego,' her acting debut through season 3 of 'The White Lotus,' and preparations for her solo stage at Coachella in 2025.

In particular, it sheds light on the process through which Lisa, who became a global star after training as a trainee from a young age and debuting with BLACKPINK, created her own music, acting career, and brand outside the group for the first time, as well as the fear and pressure behind it all.

Directed by Sue Kim, 'Always Lalisa' will be unveiled for the first time as a world premiere at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival on the 11th, followed by a limited theatrical and IMAX release worldwide beginning October 12. It is scheduled to be released worldwide through YouTube Premium later this year.
