Kim Soo-hyun flashes a ‘gum-showing’ smile ahead of his return after 18 months… “I’m glad I became an actor”

[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Ha-young] As actor Kim Soo-hyun resumes his activities in earnest, beginning with overseas engagements, a recent update showing his bright smile has been released.

On the 1st, his agency Goldmedalist shared an interview video featuring Kim Soo-hyun with Indonesian private broadcaster RCTI+ via its official social media (SNS) accounts.

In the video, Kim Soo-hyun appeared noticeably thinner than before, drawing attention. His sharper jawline and facial contours particularly stood out.

After greeting his Indonesian fans, Kim Soo-hyun introduced his favorite denim jacket. Regarding the sense of fulfillment he experiences as an actor, he said, "I think it makes me feel, ‘I’m glad I chose to become an actor,’" and added, "What if I tried receiving recommendations for characters that fans would like?"

He then said, "I definitely want to visit Bali at least once," before introducing the items in his bag and continuing the interview in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Kim Soo-hyun had effectively suspended his activities since allegations arose last year, including suspicions that he had dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.

At the time, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute and some of the deceased’s relatives claimed that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron from when she was a minor and filed a complaint against him on charges including violating the Child Welfare Act.

Kim Soo-hyun’s side acknowledged that he had dated Kim Sae-ron after she became an adult, but completely denied the allegations of a relationship during her minor years and claims of debt-related pressure, and proceeded with legal action.

Subsequently, in July, the police decided not to forward the case, finding no charges regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s alleged violation of the Child Welfare Act and accusation of false reporting.

Regarding this matter, Goldmedalist claimed that some messenger conversations and audio files made public during the process of raising the allegations were also fabricated, stating, "The deceased’s messenger conversations were altered or manipulated conversations involving someone else and unrelated to Kim Soo-hyun, while the audio files were also confirmed to be manipulated materials generated using AI technology."

Kim Soo-hyun, who had refrained from official activities following the controversy, has recently begun expanding his activities again, starting with overseas magazine photo shoots and interviews. He is also reportedly reviewing offers for numerous upcoming projects, including dramas and films.

Kim Soo-hyun will attend the '2026 The Fact Music Awards' as a presenter on the 19th at Busan Asiad Main Stadium, and is also scheduled to return to the domestic stage. He is additionally expected to attend 'AAA 2026,' which will be held on December 5 and 6 at National Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, drawing attention to his full-scale return to activities after approximately 18 months.

Meanwhile, interest also continues in whether the Disney+ series 'Knock-Off,' starring Kim Soo-hyun, whose release has been put on hold, will eventually be released.
