Kepler member sparks a stir as she bares her chest in a ballet outfit… fans say “Oh my”… “It was my choice,” she explains

Amid controversy over the ballet outfit worn by Kep1er member Kim Chaehyun, the person involved has spoken out to explain it directly.

On the 2nd, a video titled “Princesses, start stepping | ˚✧₊⁎Kep1er Ballet Troupe⁎⁺˳✧༚” was released on Kep1er’s official YouTube channel. The video showed members Xiaoting, Choi Yujin, and Kim Chaehyun learning ballet.

The issue was Kim Chaehyun’s outfit. Unlike the ballet outfits worn by the other members, it featured a deeply cut upper body design that emphasized exposure, and scenes showing exposure continued as she performed stretching and ballet moves, prompting concern among some fans.

Fans expressed dissatisfaction with the outfit, saying things like “The stylist seems crazy” and “Do they dress her in something like that knowing she’ll be sexually harassed?” and demanded that the video be edited or deleted.

As the controversy spread, Kim Chaehyun addressed it directly through a fan communication platform. She explained, “I chose that outfit myself,” and “Ballet has the image of pink, so I wanted to wear something pretty.” She added, “I thought people would like it, but I was surprised by the reaction because I didn’t expect it.”

She also said, “I understand the fans’ concerns,” but added, “I also have my own wish to wear pretty clothes. I’ll make sure to coordinate things better from now on. Please don’t be too angry.” She calmed the situation with that message.
