On the 10th, Jeongyeon posted a lengthy handwritten letter on her account, beginning with the words, "I am leaving JYP, which I have been with for a long time since my teenage years, and now I am going to make another start in a new place."

Jeongyeon expressed her gratitude, saying, "Although I was also afraid to leave a familiar place, I was able to find the courage because I had the members and ONCE, who believed in me," and, "I would like to thank our members and ONCE, whom I am so grateful to that words cannot fully express it, as well as everyone at JYP who helped me grow."

She continued, "There is one thing I really want to tell ONCE: Although I am moving to a new home and beginning a new challenge, TWICE, the greatest center within me, will remain unchanged as it is now, and standing before ONCE as a member of TWICE will always be my first priority," adding, "I will sincerely prepare step by step both for my journey as Jeongyeon of TWICE, whom you have loved, and for the new challenges of Yoo Jeongyeon, whom you will meet in the future." She made it clear that she would continue her activities with TWICE.

She added, "I sincerely thank you for believing in me all this time and for always staying by my side. We still have so much time to create together, so I will work hard to fill our precious moments with even more beauty."

Meanwhile, Jeongyeon debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015 and renewed her contract with JYP Entertainment in 2022.

After leaving JYP Entertainment 11 years later, Jeongyeon signed an exclusive contract with Baro Entertainment, which represents her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon. Jeongyeon plans to take on a new challenge as an actress.
