Jennie candidly opens up about her body-image insecurities: “I’m getting to know my body… and gaining confidence”

BLACKPINK's Jennie has revealed a stronger sense of confidence by embracing her body as it is.
On the 3rd, fashion magazine Cosmopolitan released an interview along with cover photos of Jennie.
Jennie debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016 and released songs including 'Whistle,' 'Playing with Fire,' 'DDU-DU DDU-DU,' 'Shut Down,' and 'JUMP.' She began her solo career with 'Solo' in 2018, released her first full-length album, 'Ruby,' last year, and followed it with 'Love Hangover' last month.
Jennie said, "To be honest, the past year was truly hectic," adding, "I never had the time to pause, sit down, adapt to the changes, and fully take in what 'Ruby' had brought me."
Jennie also said that she has been looking more closely at her body and mind than before. She confessed, "I'm in the process of becoming friends with my body," adding, "There were definitely parts of myself that I felt self-conscious about. I'm quite petite, so early in my career, I felt pressured to make myself look bigger."
She continued, "But now I'm learning to love my body as it is and discovering which styles suit my body type best. I feel more confident in myself than I did before."
She also expressed her affection for the other BLACKPINK members. Jennie said that the bond she shares with the members will not change because of the time they have experienced together. She said she feels grateful that they can still lean on one another, even now that each of them is following an independent path.
Jennie said, "I grew up with the members," adding, "We were always together, through difficult moments and good moments. We looked after one another and exchanged advice. That's why I never once felt lost."
