Lee Hye-ri's 12 years of acting recognized... Selected as 'Next Actor' at Muju Sangol Film Festival

(Xportsnews reporter Kim Yoo-jin) The 14th Muju Sangol Film Festival has selected actress Lee Hye-ri as the eighth subject of 'NEXT ACTOR'.

The Muju Sangol Film Festival selected Lee Hye-ri as this year's 'NEXT ACTOR', preparing a special program to closely spotlight the actor's acting world together with audiences.

The Muju Sangol Film Festival's 'NEXT ACTOR' is a unique actor-focused program in Korea, in collaboration with the Baek Eun-ha Actor Research Institute, selecting each year an actor with a wide spectrum and potential, and exploring that actor's value and acting world.

So far, the program has built its own lineup by selecting actors in succession starting with Park Jung-min, followed by Go Ah-sung, Ahn Jae-hong, Jeon Yeo-bin, Byun Yo-han, Ko Min-si, and Choi Hyun-wook.

Selected as the eighth 'NEXT ACTOR', Lee Hye-ri was recognized for her potential as an actor through her role as Ye-hee in the 2014 "Seonam Girls' High School Detective Club," and then caused a sensation in 2015 with her role as Deok-sun in "Reply 1988," proving both star quality and acting skill to the public.

Since then, from "Miss Lee (Cheongil Electronics)", "My Roommate Is a Gumiho", "When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon", "Ildangbaek Jipsa", "Seon-ui-ui Gyeongjaeng" to the films "Monstrum", "Pansori Boxer", and "Victory", she has freely portrayed a variety of characters — from lively and lovable charm to mysterious and glamorous looks — carving out her own acting territory.

The Muju Sangol Film Festival stated, "Actress Lee Hye-ri is an actor who consistently shows a new face while moving across genres and characters, and we look forward to her future steps," explaining the reason for the selection.

At the 14th Muju Sangol Film Festival, her works will be screened during the festival, and she will meet audiences directly through GVs (audience Q&A) and special outdoor talks.

In particular, at the opening ceremony on June 4, the NEXT ACTOR self-trailer video that Lee Hye-ri personally participated in and completed will be unveiled for the first time.

Alongside this, the 'NEXT ACTOR' booklet focusing on Lee Hye-ri's broad acting world will be officially published during the festival, and an exhibition program containing Lee Hye-ri's various behind-the-scenes content will also take place.

The 14th Muju Sangol Film Festival, which has raised expectations by selecting Lee Hye-ri as this year's 'NEXT ACTOR', will be held for five days from June 4 to June 8 across the Muju-gun area.
