Hoshi donates 10 million won as a military serviceman… “True love for fellow comrades is love for the nation”

It has been reported belatedly that Hoshi of SEVENTEEN made a donation while serving in the military.

The Chungnam Community Chest of Korea, the social welfare community chest, told Dispatch on the 8th that Hoshi donated 10 million won to the "Patriotism Through Devotion, Comrades' Love Fund."

The "Patriotism Through Devotion, Comrades' Love Fund" is a fund created to help military personnel. It provides financial support to comrades and their families who have suffered unexpected accidents.

Last month, Hoshi generously donated 10 million won to the fund. The donation was made under his real name, Kwon Soon-young, and it is said that even the Community Chest side learned of it late.

Even before his military service, he repeatedly practiced sharing. In particular, he has made donations to local communities as a family. He and his parents were listed in the Honor Society.

The Honor Society is a group of social leaders launched in December 2007. Membership is granted when a person donates or pledges at least 100 million won to the Community Chest.

Hoshi became an Honor Society member in 2021. His father, Kwon Hyeok-du, joined as a member in 2024. His mother, Park Mi-young, also became eligible to join last year.

Meanwhile, Hoshi is currently serving in the Taekwondo demonstration team of the Army Military Band and Honor Guard Battalion. His scheduled discharge date is March 15, 2027.
