'I-DLE' Shuhua, film debut… 'I will convey astonishment as an actor'

[Dispatch=Reporter Koo Min-ji] (G)I-DLE's Shuhua is making her screen debut. She is expected to anchor the film as the lead.

Cube Entertainment said on the 26th, "Shuhua has been cast as the lead in the Greater China film 'Happy and Joyful Days' (director Feng Ai Fiona Ron). She will be appearing in a film for the first time."

'Happy and Joyful Days' is the story of two sisters with completely different personalities. One day, the appearance of a stray cat becomes the trigger that shakes their seemingly peaceful everyday life.

Shuhua plays the innocent youngest sister Lin Jiaqi (林家琪). By accidentally taking in a stray cat and the bond that forms, the way she views life gradually changes.

She shared her thoughts on her film debut. "I want to show a different side of myself as an actress," she said, adding, "I want to give fans a new surprise," expressing her determined ambition.

She continued, "Lin Jiaqi's cheerful and emotional side resembles me. Her inner side that worries about and avoids the future is something I need to challenge. I will convey it well at my own pace," she said.

Director Feng Ai Fiona Ron has won Best New Director, the International Critics' Award, and the Audience Award at the Greater China representative film festival the Golden Horse Awards. She was recognized for her work with 'American Girl'.

(G)I-DLE are conducting their fourth world tour, 'Syncopation'. They will visit Australia in May; in June, Singapore, Yokohama, and Hong Kong; and major North American cities in August.

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE will also take the stage at the large music festival 'Lollapalooza' held at Grant Park in Chicago, USA, on July 31 (local time).
