BTS 'Arirang', No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks... 'First Korean artist'

The group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS)'s fifth studio album 'Arirang' (ARIRANG) reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard main albums chart, the 'Billboard 200', maintaining its top position.

According to U.S. Billboard, 'Arirang' rose to No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200' in the issue dated the 11th, and it was reported to be the first case of a Korean artist maintaining No. 1 for two consecutive weeks.

Billboard said this week that 'Arirang' recorded 187,000 album units, of which 114,000 were pure album sales (physical and digital purchases).

'Arirang' held No. 1 for two consecutive weeks in three global categories on Spotify's weekly chart (March 27April 2): 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists', and it ranked No. 4 on the UK's Official Charts 'Official Albums Top 100' (April 3April 9).

The title track 'Swim (SWIM)' took No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100' in the issue dated the 4th, making Bangtan Sonyeondan the act to simultaneously top Billboard's main album and song charts.

Also, without any broadcast appearances, it was reported to have won a total of nine trophies on shows such as SBS 'Inkigayo', MBC 'Show! Music Core', KBS2 'Music Bank', Mnet 'M Countdown', and MBC M 'Show! Champion'.
