“BLACKPINK, you’re not going to take a photo, right?” Jisoo reveals the full story behind her “ruining the Coachella experience” remark

[Sports Kyunghyang, Reporter Lee Seul-gi] Jisoo of BLACKPINK offered a witty explanation for the so-called “realistic T remark” that broke the emotional atmosphere immediately after the group’s historic Coachella headlining performance.

On the 30th, the YouTube channel ‘W KOREA’ uploaded a video titled “Looking Back on 10 Years Since Jisoo’s Debut Through a Meme Interview! Why Did Silence Fall at the BLACKPINK Concert?”

In the video, Jisoo looked back on the touching moment after BLACKPINK became the first K-pop artists to headline Coachella. When footage showed Jisoo playfully teasing the members who were crying immediately after the performance, saying, “Oh? They’re crying, they’re crying,” she burst out laughing.

The controversial line from that time then played: “BLACKPINK, you’re not going to take pictures, right? I’m going to change clothes,” which seemingly poured cold water(?) on the emotional atmosphere. After seeing it, Jisoo passionately protested that she had been misunderstood, saying, “But this is what it was. Someone had to do it.”

When asked whether it had been a “capital-T moment of realism,” Jisoo waved her hands dismissively and explained the practical reason. “This wasn’t a T moment. Because it was already over, and no one was leaving their seats,” she said, recalling the atmosphere at the time.

She continued, “The place where Coachella is held was far from Los Angeles. I had decided to head to Los Angeles after it ended, but it would have taken about two hours by car to get there. So I had no choice but to wrap things up like that,” explaining how rushed the situation had been.

Jisoo added, “At that time, I called out ‘BLACKPINK’ because I thought they would look directly at me only if I addressed them that way,” wrapping up her cool and humorous explanation and making everyone on set burst into laughter.
