Blackpink Jisoo’s side warns Kim & Jang appointee: “We will take all legal measures in civil and criminal matters” [Official Statement]

BLISSOO artist Jisoo’s side has recently announced a firm response through legal representatives regarding the family-related controversy spreading online, stating its official position and signaling strong action.

On the 20th, attorney Eun Hyeon-ho of Kim & Chang, who is serving as Jisoo’s legal representative, said in an official statement, "The issue currently being raised is completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO," adding, "We express grave regret over actions that damage the artist’s reputation based on information that is not true."

Jisoo’s side in particular denied any business connection between the artist and the person in question. The legal representative stated, "Claims that the person in question and the artist co-founded the company, or that the person in question is a BLISSOO executive or CEO, are completely false," and added, "That person currently has no legal or business relationship whatsoever with BLISSOO."

They then emphasized the artist’s independent path, explaining, "Since her trainee days, Jisoo left home early and has lived apart from her family for a long time, so she is in no position to know about or be involved in that person’s private life." They also added that while family members provided limited advice during BLISSOO’s founding process, they were never paid nor involved in decision-making, and that the company has since been run completely independently.

Regarding financial support, they firmly stated, "BLISSOO and the artist are providing no financial or legal support whatsoever to that person, and have no plans to do so in the future."

Finally, the legal representative warned, "Spreading false information or linking the artist’s image to unrelated matters is a clear infringement of rights," adding, "We will immediately take all possible civil and criminal legal action, without any leniency or settlement, against those who post false information and defamatory content."

Regarding the family-related matter involving an artist from BLISSOO, which has recently been spreading through some media reports, online communities, SNS, and elsewhere, we express grave regret that the artist and BLISSOO are being linked to the issue and that actions damaging reputations based on false information are being carried out without restraint.

First, the issue currently being raised is completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO, and much of the content circulating online consists of unverified speculation or clearly false information.

The artist began trainee life at a young age and became independent early, living apart from her family for a long period, and is in no position to know about or be involved in that person’s private life.

In addition, during the preparation process for BLISSOO’s establishment, the artist did receive some limited advice and help as a messenger in conversations with family members to coordinate with related parties, but from then until now, no family member has ever received compensation from BLISSOO or participated in decision-making. Since then, the company has been operated completely independently, with no connection whatsoever to family members.

In particular, the claims being circulated in some media and online that "the person in question and the artist co-founded it," or that "the person in question is a BLISSOO executive or CEO," are completely false, and we clearly state that the person in question currently has no legal or managerial relationship with BLISSOO.

Furthermore, BLISSOO and the artist are not providing any financial or legal support whatsoever to that person, and there are no plans to provide such support in the future. In addition, they are not engaging in any interaction or involvement regarding this matter.

Nevertheless, continuously spreading false information or turning the artist’s name, likeness, and image into material for unrelated matters and spreading it widely constitutes a clear infringement of rights and defamation.

Accordingly, our legal representative sternly warns that for the following actions, all possible civil and criminal legal measures will be taken immediately.

- Creating and distributing posts that spread false information and defame others
- Using the artist’s name, likeness, or image for unrelated matters
- Turning speculation into articles or content without verifying facts

In particular, we make it clear that we will respond strongly to malicious or repetitive posters and distributors without any leniency or settlement.
