That day, Prince Ian, who ascended the throne, declared, "Let's begin discussions on abolishing the monarchy." Earlier, Seong Hui-ju had asked Prince Ian, "What will be the first line written in the royal chronicle?" Prince Ian explained his intention to abolish the royal family, saying, "A natural status becoming privilege and restriction—that all starts with the royal family." Hearing this, Seong Hui-ju embraced Prince Ian, saying, "I thought it was treason, but it was a revolution. As expected of my dream."

However, Prince Ian ran into fierce opposition. Min Jeong-woo (Noh Sang-hyun) responded sharply, saying, "The king can change, but the royal family cannot." With the cabinet and royal relatives opposed, the only place Prince Ian could rely on was the people.

Yun I-rang (Gong Seung-yeon) learned through Yun Seong-won (Jo Jae-yun) that the one who summoned Prince Ian to the private chamber was Min Jeong-woo. Min Jeong-woo, who appeared before Yun I-rang after she learned the truth, stated, "Please voice your opposition to the abolition of the monarchy." He threatened that if Yun I-rang refused, he would even make her son into a criminal.

Min Jeong-woo then halted the royal family budget payment. In response, Seong Hui-ju donated an amount under the Castle Group name that exceeded a year's budget, saying, "What use is it to have a wealthy in-law family?" Min Jeong-woo then pressured Castle Group with a slush fund investigation, but Seong Hyeon-guk (Jo Seung-yeon) and Seong Tae-ju (Lee Jae-won) firmly protected Seong Hui-ju.

Prince Ian pointed out that what the royals, royal relatives, and aristocrats wanted to protect was not Jongmyo and Sajik, nor the monarchy, but their noble status. When Min Jeong-woo pushed back, Seong Hui-ju appeared, saying, "So you tried to kill him?" Earlier, Seong Hui-ju, who had gone to Yun I-rang to ask for help, heard the ugly truth about Min Jeong-woo that Yun I-rang had recorded. Furious after hearing the recording, Prince Ian shouted, "From now on, anyone who sides with Prime Minister Min will be regarded as an accomplice of those who sought to assassinate me."

Min Jeong-woo admitted that he had tried to assassinate Prince Ian and blamed him, saying, "I begged you. I asked you to push Hui-ju far away. Then I said I would protect you," but Prince Ian rebuked him, saying, "It's your fault for thinking you lost something you never even had."

After a national referendum on the monarchy, Prince Ian declared, "I announce the completion of the monarchy. The 34th King, I-wan." As Prince Ian had requested, Seong Hui-ju called him "Wan," saying that if he succeeded, she would call him by that name.

Three years later, Seong Hui-ju returned to the board of directors, and I-wan organized the royal assets and then founded a foundation. However, he kept not going to work and only taking care of the household, drawing criticism from Choi Hyeon (Yoo Soo-bin). Seong Tae-ju took parental leave, and Seong Hyeon-guk told Seong Hui-ju, "Prove it," saying, "I never wished for you to lose. I just wished you wouldn't have to fight."

I-wan wanted to propose to Seong Hui-ju again and have a wedding. Knowing this, Seong Hui-ju asked when he had truly meant it, saying, "Why bother? I was sincere from that time on. Were you not?" I-wan confessed, "Since the time you first told me your name," and kissed her. Afterwards, the two also kissed at the baseball stadium and showed their happiness.
