April 2010, a Gaya port recreated in Seokgok-ri

The Marine Drama Set was built in Seokgok-ri, Gusan-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. It opened in April 2010 with 25 buildings across six areas, and Changwon City records May 2010 as the completion and opening date.

With the coast of Masan as its backdrop, this filming space features a blacksmith workshop, landing pier, market street, 25 wooden buildings, and three vessels. The first production filmed here was the 2010 MBC drama <Kim Su-ro>, and photographs of key scenes from the production are displayed throughout the buildings.

From <Kim Su-ro> to <Six Flying Dragons>, an actual filming location

The site was used to film <Warrior Baek Dong-soo>, <Empress Ki>, <The Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People>, <Jingbirok>, and <Six Flying Dragons>. Other guides also introduce it as a filming location for <Faith>, <The Princess' Man>, <Gye Baek>, and <Moo-shin>.

The set is intended less as a museum displaying artifacts and more as a place where visitors can walk through historical settings brought to life on screen. Gaya-style sailing ships, various weapons, and household items offer a glimpse into the lifestyle and culture of the Gaya period, although access may be restricted during filming.

Take buses 63, 64, or 65 from central Changwon

Visitors using public transportation should check the operating information for city buses 63, 64, and 65 from central Changwon or Masan. Bus 63 is listed as stopping in front of the Marine Drama Set, so visitors from outside the area should reconfirm with the driver that they can get off at “in front of the Marine Drama Set.”

The 1.7-km Padosorigil trail behind the set takes about one hour

A 1.7-km-long Padosorigil trail continues behind the set. This walking course offers views of both the forest and the sea, and Sea&Wood Hyangginara includes an observatory, pavilion, and rest areas.

Visitor reviews suggest that combining the set tour with a walk around the area takes about one hour. Some reviews say it was not crowded early in the day, while others note that Padosorigil has slopes and may be challenging for people with mobility difficulties.
