The current Jinnam Station course uses the old railway tracks around Jinnamgyoban and the Yeonggang River. During the ride, you pass rivers and tunnels and can see the mountain scenery and streams around the tracks several times, making it more like traveling along the terrain of an abandoned railway than a simple cycling experience.
How to ride the 3.6 km from Jinnam Station to Guran-ri Station
The official course is 3.6 km one way from Jinnam Station to Guran-ri Station, making the total round-trip distance 7.2 km. Since this is an out-and-back course returning to the starting point rather than a one-way trip ending at Guran-ri Station, you should include enough time in your schedule to return.
Each rail bike can accommodate up to four people and uses electric power. Tourism information generally describes the full ride as taking 40–50 minutes, while other guidance lists the round trip as about one hour, so allowing approximately 40–60 minutes is a safe choice.
Why does it stop on Mondays, despite operating from 09:00 to 17:00?
According to 2026 guidance from the Mungyeong Tourism Promotion Corporation, departures from Jinnam Station are scheduled at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00, and the ticket office also opens at 09:00. On Lunar New Year's Day and Chuseok Day, rides begin at 13:00.
Jinnam Station is closed every Monday for regular inspections. If Monday is a public holiday, it operates normally and closes on the next regular business day, so during a holiday period you should not decide based only on the Mondays shown on the calendar. Operations may also be suspended because of rain or other severe weather, including natural disasters.
Tickets costing 25,000 won per bike and first-come, first-served weekend reservations
According to 2026 guidance, the fare for the Jinnam Station–Guran-ri Station rail bike is 25,000 won per bike. Groups using 10 or more bikes simultaneously receive a 10% discount, and the discount amount is provided as Mungyeong Sarang gift certificates rather than a cash refund.
Mungyeong residents and holders of tourism discount passes such as the Gyeongbuk Tour Pass are eligible to receive 5,000 won in Mungyeong Sarang gift certificates. During peak season and on weekends, first-come, first-served reservations are required, and tickets may sell out early. Foreign travelers should therefore check the reservation information on the official website first rather than relying only on seats remaining at the site.
From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal via Jeomchon to Jinnamgyoban
By public transportation, the recommended route is to travel from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal to Jeomchon Intercity Bus Terminal. Buses between the two terminals operate 14 times a day and take approximately two hours. Current information about departures from the train station or the latest name of the stop directly in front of Jinnam Station could not be confirmed.
After arriving at Jeomchon Intercity Bus Terminal, you can take local buses 10, 20, or 30 toward Jinnamgyoban and Tokkibiri from the stop opposite Homeplus in front of the terminal. There is also information stating that it takes about 13 minutes by car from Mungyeong Bus Terminal to Jinnam Station, but the official walking time to Jinnam Station and the latest service intervals could not be confirmed from publicly available information.

This course is not a place where visitors can freely walk into every section like an indoor exhibition hall. It is an experience in which you ride a reserved rail bike along a designated track and return along the same route. Passengers must wear seat belts and maintain a safety distance of at least 10 meters between the bikes in front and behind.

The official safety rules instruct passengers not to stand up during operation and to remain seated until arrival. Tourism information says that even older adults can use it without difficulty because it is electrically powered, but since it travels on railway tracks, passengers must wear seat belts and remain in their seats.
