For a first visit, walking one full lap around the outer edge of the garden before entering indoor spaces such as Starbucks The Jeju Songdang Park R, Dotori Forest Jeju, and the tourist market makes the route simple. Visit Jeju introduces the outdoor area as having seasonal flowers, trees, and ponds arranged along the route. Since there is no separate admission procedure, the length of stay varies depending on whether visitors dine or shop.
Around 60 minutes is sufficient for a light look around the garden, while about 90 minutes is reasonable if visits to shops and photography are included. Since walking is the main activity, a windproof jacket and slip-resistant shoes are more practical than an umbrella on rainy or very windy days. Visit Jeju states that sunflowers in Jeju reach their peak from mid-June through August in summer, but it cannot be assumed that the planting and blooming schedule at Songdang Fairy Tale Village exactly matches that timetable. For garden photography, the period immediately after opening each day, from 09:00 to 10:30, or after 17:00 when the sun is lower, is more comfortable than midday. On weekends during hydrangea season, it is best to allow extra time for parking and café seating.
Inside the Garden: Home to Korea’s Largest Reserve Store and Jeju-Exclusive Menus
Visit Jeju introduces Starbucks The Jeju Songdang Park R as the largest Reserve store in Korea. It was designed so visitors can view Jeju’s natural scenery through large picture windows, and the store features sculptures and photo exhibitions, along with menus sold exclusively in Jeju.
Other places mentioned within the fairy tale village include Paris Baguette Jeju Garden, Mr. Milk, a tourist market, and a butcher restaurant. According to Visit Jeju, Paris Baguette Jeju Garden sells the Jeju-exclusive “Mongsaengi Sand.” However, menu selections, stock, and individual shop hours may change, so if purchasing a particular product is your goal, it is best to contact the shop separately before departure.
Why a New Garden Was Created Between Songdang Village and the Oreum Cluster
Travel reports describe Songdang Fairy Tale Village as being located in the center of Jeju’s eastern oreum cluster. The Songdang area lies along a section of Bijarim-ro that passes through the mid-mountain region, so rather than coastal tourist attractions and the sea, the area first makes an impression with gently sloping oreum ridges and broad fields.
This space is not a place dedicated to preserving and displaying the remains of a traditional village, but a privately operated, garden-style complex newly created in October 2023. Therefore, descriptions of its design as being themed around Jeju’s stones, trees, culture, and mythology are best understood as principles underlying the garden’s composition. Rather than expecting a museum explaining Songdang’s history itself, plan to use it as a large outdoor garden where you can take a break during a drive along Bijarim-ro.
Rental-Car-Focused Access and What to Check Before Parking

Since it is located along Bijarim-ro, it is easy to include when traveling around eastern Jeju by rental car. Next Destinations After a One-Hour Garden Walk When Combined with Stone Culture Park
Songdang Fairy Tale Village alone may feel brief for travelers expecting hands-on tourist facilities or exhibitions. As in the eastern Jeju summer route suggested by Visit Jeju, combining it with Stone Culture Park, Imi Forest Trail, and Dolnang Art Center allows visitors to compare three different landscapes: gardens, stones, and mid-mountain forests.
Stone Culture Park is introduced as a place that operates exhibitions using nature and stones, themed around the legends of Seolmundae Grandmother and the 500 Generals. It is a good idea to divide the roles by having a meal and resting at Songdang Fairy Tale Village, then focusing on exhibitions and walking at Stone Culture Park.
