From the opening of 24 holes in 1998 to the standard 27 holes in 2004

Crown Country Club’s business began on June 10, 1989, when the Governor of Jeju Province approved the selection of a new golf course operator and granted development authorization. On April 19, 1990, Shinseong Tourism Co., Ltd. was established, and on December 20, 1991, construction of the golf course began.

It opened on June 5, 1998 with 18 membership holes and 6 public holes, and since October 15, 2004 it has operated a standard 27-hole course combining 18 membership holes and 9 public holes. On December 31, 2003, the operator was transferred to the Gwanjeong Lee Jong-hwan Education Foundation, and on April 8, 2008, a golf village consisting of 6 buildings and 31 rooms was completed.

The low-elevation Jocheon Bukchon-ri course is well suited for winter rounds

The official introduction describes this as a course located at the lowest elevation among golf courses in Jeju. Because of this location, it operates rounds year-round, and the actual playing hours are generally from 20 minutes before sunrise to 20 minutes after sunset.

However, ‘year-round’ does not mean play is always guaranteed regardless of weather. Temporary closures may occur due to unavoidable conditions such as snow, heavy rain, or fog, and the terms state that if play is interrupted, fees are settled according to the number of holes played. On winter days or when rain and strong winds are forecast, it is best to reconfirm tee-off availability at 064-784-4811 before departure.

  • Regular closure: Open year-round
  • Standard operating hours: 20 minutes before sunrise to 20 minutes after sunset
  • Basic entry basis per visit: 18 holes
  • In case of severe weather: Temporary closure or hole-based settlement possible

How to calculate the 18-hole green fee of KRW 140,000 to 200,000 and the team cart fee of KRW 100,000

According to the official rate sheet, the standard 18-hole green fee is KRW 160,000 on weekdays and KRW 200,000 on weekends. Discounted green fees are listed as KRW 140,000 on weekdays and KRW 180,000 on weekends, and actual applicability may vary depending on the product and tee time conditions at the time of reservation.

The cart fee is KRW 100,000 on both weekdays and weekends. The basic fee includes club house facility usage charges such as lockers, showers, and laundry bags, as well as taxes and other public charges including value-added tax. Since the golf village non-member rate sheet lists both S and R/S types at KRW 450,000 for weekdays and weekends, the room configuration and guest count should be confirmed separately before booking.

  • Weekday standard green fee: KRW 160,000
  • Weekend standard green fee: KRW 200,000
  • Weekday discounted green fee: KRW 140,000

About 10 minutes by car from Hamdeok Beach, a route best planned around a rental car

Crown Country Club is located at San65, Bukchon-ri, Jocheon-eup, and lodging information describes Hamdeok Beach as being about 10 minutes away by car. If you want to add a coastal walk before or after your round, it is best to plan tee-off time separately from sunset time.

Parking is available and the parking fee is free. In publicly available official and tourism information, no specific bus number, nearest stop and walking time, or wheelchair/stroller route has been confirmed. If you are traveling with golf bags, it is better to plan transportation around a rental car or taxi rather than public transit, and users of mobility aids should inquire in advance with the club about access routes and shower room accessibility.

  • Parking: Available
  • Parking fee: Free
  • Hamdeok Beach: About 10 minutes by car
  • Stroller rental: Not available
  • Recommended stay: For an 18-hole round, at least half a day from tee-off to meal and wrap-up

Checking the 31-room golf village together with the breakfast and lunch menu

The golf village was completed in 2008 with 6 buildings and 31 rooms. It is suitable for combining golf rounds and lodging in one place, but the current room and check-in conditions at online lodging sales sites and the room listings in the official golf course rate sheet should be checked separately for consistency.

The official fee information lists breakfast items such as Hwa-tae haejangguk, sea urchin seaweed soup, yukgaejang, and abalone porridge at KRW 16,000 or KRW 17,000 each, and lunch items such as sea urchin seaweed soup at KRW 16,000, potato and mackerel braise at KRW 18,000, and abalone seafood ttukbaegi at KRW 23,000. Jjuksam bulgogi stir-fry and black pork kimchi hot pot are both KRW 90,000, and the restaurant states that it uses domestically produced rice and napa cabbage kimchi.

  • Golf village: 6 buildings, 31 rooms
  • Sea urchin seaweed soup: KRW 16,000
  • Potato and mackerel braise: KRW 18,000
  • Abalone seafood ttukbaegi: KRW 23,000
  • Jjuksam bulgogi stir-fry: KRW 90,000
  • Black pork kimchi hot pot: KRW 90,000

More important than the palm-tree entrance is preparing for the narrow fairways of the 27-hole course

The course introduction materials explain that the design makes use of natural terrain undulations and places water hazards and bunkers strategically. Since the fairways are generally narrow, accuracy off the tee is emphasized over long driving, so for first-time golfers, it is more practical to check the safe zone for the tee shot rather than attack based only on distance.

Review-style course descriptions mention palm trees along the entrance road and flat terrain, but the difficulty of the course is a separate matter. Repeated feedback notes that the bunkers and hazards along the way, as well as the visually narrow feeling of the holes, make score management difficult. Rather than insisting on the driver alone, it is better to prepare wood and utility options and reconfirm wind and green conditions at the start house on the day of play.
