A Smart Racing Park That Opened in Aewol in July 2020
9.81 Park is a smart racing theme park in Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. It officially opened in July 2020 and is presented as an activity space combining sports and games with advanced technology. It is located between the Aewol sea and Hallasan Mountain.
The name of this place and its signature experience originate from Jeju’s terrain gradient and gravitational acceleration of 9.81 m/s². Race981 is designed around downhill driving powered by gravity rather than an engine, and its location allows visitors to see Biyangdo, Saebyeol Oreum, and Hallasan Mountain while racing.

About 30 Minutes from Jeju Airport and 35 Minutes by Car from the Bus Terminal
The address is 880-24 Cheondeok-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and the parcel-based address is San 131, Eoeum-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Since it is described as about 30 minutes from Jeju Airport, it can be included in the itinerary for either your arrival or departure day.
Using the Jeju City Bus Terminal as the starting point, the journey takes about 35 minutes by car and covers approximately 20 km. A round-trip shuttle bus connecting Jeju Airport and 9.81 Park also operates, but the official information does not provide a regular bus route number or walking directions from the stop. Shuttle and attraction operations may be affected by weather conditions.
The main telephone number is 1833-9810. You can use it to ask about shuttle operations or whether the attractions are available due to weather before traveling. The official website is https://www.981park.com/.

Open from 09:00 to 18:00; Admission Is Listed as Free, but Attraction Tickets Are Separate
General operating hours are 09:00–18:00, while usage hours vary by attraction. Official tourism information lists it as open year-round. During the 2026 summer peak season, operating hours were extended until 20:00 from July 17 to August 17.
Although some information lists admission to the facilities as free, tickets for Race981 and indoor activities are separate. A 2025 information listing gave a price of 57,500 won per person for the 981 Pokémon Full Package, and some ticket prices increased starting in February 2026. Therefore, this amount should not be considered the current price of all tickets.
The official website states that Naver reservations are available. The complete current price list for each attraction, the admission closing time for each attraction, the number of available parking spaces and parking fees, and whether payment is cash-only are not included in this information.

Race981’s Four Courses and Three Types of Gravity Racers
Race981 consists of downhill racing powered solely by gravitational acceleration of 9.81 m/s² while looking out over the Jeju sea, and uphill racing that ascends automatically while facing toward Hallasan Mountain. The maximum speed is listed as up to 60 km/h.
There are three types of gravity racers—GR-E, GR-D (Junior GR-D), and GR-X—and four courses: 1, 2, 3, and X. First-time visitors may easily assume that the vehicle type and course are fixed as one combination, but the available options may vary depending on the ticket and riding conditions.
As of 2026, single-rider courses are available to people aged 14 or older who are 150–190 cm tall. For two-rider vehicles, a passenger aged 3 or older and at least 100 cm tall may ride with a guardian; when there is a passenger, the driver must be an adult guardian aged 19 or older.

Why You Must Remove Your Smartphone and Earrings Before Riding
Visitor reviews indicate that safety instructions and operating lessons are provided at the boarding area. During the motorless downhill ride, both hands must remain on the steering wheel and the right foot must be kept on the brake pedal. Learning this basic posture before focusing on speed is important.
Items such as smartphones, scarves, earrings, and keys must not be worn or carried while riding because of the risk of accidents and loss. Travelers carrying long accessories or valuables that can easily slip from their hands should arrange a way to store them before boarding.
Racing records and ride videos can be viewed or downloaded through the 9.81 app. Visitor reviews recorded that staff recommended installing the app and signing up at the entrance, so it is more efficient to prepare your app account together with your reservation rather than installing it for the first time on-site.
The 15 Sports Lab Activities and Indoor Attractions
At Sports Lab, visitors can experience 15 interactive sports games using large screens. The activities introduced include soccer, basketball, bowling, table tennis, skiing, curling, archery, slingshot, duck hunting, horseback riding, action racing, Jump Jump, pinball, and clay shooting.
Ring°°Go is a game-style bumper car in which players earn points and receive rankings based on collision locations. Sky Swing rotates 360 degrees using only the rider’s body momentum, and the on-site monitor displays height, angle, and ranking in real time.
Meta981 is an indoor VR race that recreates the Race981 track and Jeju’s natural scenery in virtual reality. The Arena is introduced as Jeju’s first indoor survival game and supports both individual and team matches. Pro Arena requires participants to be at least 150 cm tall and aged 14 or older.
Schedule Racing in the Morning and Indoor Games Afterwards
A visitor review dated March 16, 2022, recorded arriving before 09:00 on a Monday and completing ticketing, with an average wait of less than five minutes and three racing sessions in one hour. The same review noted that the indoor game zone became crowded afterward, resulting in long waits and fewer games actually played.
Based on this review, there are cases of visitors staying for more than two hours in total, combining about one hour of racing and about one hour of indoor games. Therefore, rather than making only a brief stop based on airport travel time, it is better to allow at least two hours so you can divide your time between racing and indoor activities.
Licenses based on racing records and individual and team battle systems make this suitable for travelers who enjoy competing for records. Conversely, people who do not meet the height or age requirements or who want to avoid speed and queues may find it difficult to experience all the attractions.
How to Relax in One Building, Including BroccolRidge and Lounge X
Indoors, there is the Garage981 brand store and Space Zero, a lounge bar. The cafeteria Broccoli is described as offering menus made with vegetables and ingredients grown in Jeju.
Lounge X, a robot barista café, is also located inside the facility. Onatsu is described as handmade cream-filled glutinous-rice doughnuts available only in Jeju. These are options when you need a meal or drink between Race981 and Sports Lab.
Pets may enter if a dedicated ticket is purchased every Saturday, and leashes are mandatory both indoors and outdoors. The leash or harness must be no longer than 2 m, and only one pet per person may enter. Wheelchair users must consider not only Pro Arena’s height and age restrictions but also the condition that visitors with disabilities who cannot drive alone may only ride as a passenger in the rear seat of a two-rider GR-D.
