Hantangang Sky Bridge is a 200-meter-long, barrier-free suspension bridge that overlooks a columnar-joint canyon from about 50 meters above the ground. You can also use the free parking lot and visit Bidulginang Waterfall, but public transportation runs infrequently, so it is safest to plan around the bus schedule first.

May 13, 2018: Linking the Ecological Landscape Complex and Theme Park

Hantangang Sky Bridge is a 200-meter-long skywalk-style pedestrian bridge completed in 2018. It was installed to connect the Ecological Landscape Complex and theme park, which had been separated by the Hantangang Gorge, and opened at 10:00 a.m. on May 13, 2018.

The Hantangang Basin is a lava plateau formed by volcanic activity, and the present gorge and columnar joints are landscapes created by this geological environment. The bridge is approximately 50 meters above the ground, making it not merely a transportation facility but also a viewing route for observing the gorge’s geological features from above.

What You Can Actually See and How Much the 200-Meter Suspension Bridge Moves

From the bridge, you can look down on the Hantangang Gorge and columnar joints from approximately 50 meters above the ground. Because it is a suspension bridge, it may sway somewhat, and visitor reviews repeatedly describe it as a pedestrian bridge that begins to bounce slightly from the middle onward.

There are three glass-floor sections in total. The glass section in the center of the bridge provides views down toward the river and gorge, so people sensitive to heights or moving floors may prefer the walking path along the edge.

An Itinerary Connecting to Bidulginang Waterfall Between 09:00 and 18:00

Operating hours and closure days should be reconfirmed through official notices. Admission fees and the inquiry telephone number should also be reconfirmed through official notices. Pocheon City’s official tourism information page links to the official information page for Hantangang Sky Bridge.

Parking is available, and there is no parking fee. Bidulginang Waterfall is near the parking lot, and visitor reviews state that it takes 5–10 minutes to walk from Bidulginang Waterfall to the Sky Bridge. If you visit only the waterfall and bridge together, you can allow approximately 1 to 1.5 hours based on visitor reviews.

Bus Combinations from Dong Seoul Terminal to Yeongbuk-myeon

If departing from Seoul, take bus 3000, 3000-1, or 3002 from Dong Seoul Terminal, get off at Uncheon Terminal or Yeongbuk-myeon Office, and then use local bus 10 or 53, or a taxi. Information also lists taking bus 3001 from Uijeongbu Bus Terminal or bus 1386 from Dobongsan Station Metropolitan Transfer Center.

The taxi distance from Uncheon Terminal or Yeongbuk-myeon Office to the area around the destination is approximately 8 km. The official guide lists “Hantangang Geopark Center” as the alighting point. Bus 10 departs from Sanjeong Lake Sangdong Parking Lot, passes Hantangang Geopark Center and UNESCO Global Geopark Bidulginang, and turns around at the Sky Bridge.

Matching the Infrequent Departure Times of Buses 53, 10, and 91

Bus 53 departs from Pocheon City Hall and passes Yeongbuk-myeon Office, Hantangang Geopark Center, and UNESCO Global Geopark Bidulginang. Its departure times from Pocheon City Hall are 06:50, 09:20, 13:00, 15:40, and 18:10, while its arrival times at Hantangang Geopark Center are listed as 07:35, 10:15, 13:55, 16:35, and 19:05.

Bus 10 departs from Sanjeong Lake Sangdong Parking Lot at 09:00, 11:00, 14:00, and 16:00, with turnaround times at the Sky Bridge of 09:50, 11:50, 14:50, and 16:50. Bus 91 directly connects Sanjeong Lake and the Sky Bridge, departing Sanjeong Lake at 08:30, 12:30, and 16:00 and arriving at the Sky Bridge at 08:50, 12:50, and 16:20. If you miss a bus, the wait until the next one may be long.

Accessible Sky Bridge and Bidulginang Waterfall Below the Stairs

Hantangang Sky Bridge was designed for barrier-free access and can be used by wheelchair visitors, with a gently sloped ramp leading up to the bridge. The site is described as having accessible parking spaces and a free wheelchair rental station, as well as restrooms.

However, reaching Bidulginang Waterfall requires descending stairs, making wheelchair access difficult. Wheelchair users should therefore prioritize the Sky Bridge viewpoint, which is accessible via the ramp, and decide separately whether to descend to the base of the waterfall. If you wish to avoid the glass floor, you can move to sections with a standard walking surface.

Time Needed to Add the 6 km Meonguri Gorge Walking Trail

The walking trail connected to the Sky Bridge is an approximately 6 km course running along Meonguri Gorge. Although the trail has been developed as a gentle course, some sections descend toward the river, where visitors cross stepping stones and see the gorge and cliffs up close.

The Bidulginang Loop Course is listed as 6 km and approximately 2 hours long. It passes Bidulginang, Byeorut-gil, stepping stones, and Meonguri-gil before returning to Bidulginang. A 1- to 1.5-hour itinerary covering only the bridge and waterfall requires different footwear and stamina from the 6 km loop course, so first-time visitors should plan the two itineraries separately.

Connections Outside the Bridge May Change After Snow or Heavy Rain

A visitor review dated January 21, 2025, records that access was restricted because of snow and that it was unknown when the site would reopen. A review dated August 28, 2025, mentions a case in which the path from the Sky Bridge to the Y-Shaped Suspension Bridge was closed because of the risk of falling rocks after heavy rain.

These cases mean that an itinerary for viewing the Sky Bridge itself is not always the same as one for walking the surrounding connecting trails. After winter snow or heavy summer rain, check operating conditions by calling 031-538-3030. Bus users should also allow for schedule changes due to the operating company’s circumstances, as advised by Pocheon City.

See Bidulginang Waterfall and the Geopark Center in One Visit

Bidulginang Waterfall is near the Hantangang Sky Bridge parking lot and is designated Natural Monument No. 537. It is also recorded as a filming location for several dramas and films. Hantangang Sky Bridge itself is recorded as a filming location for “The Great Queen Seondeok” (2009/MBC), “Chuno” (2010/KBS), “Empress Ki” (2013/MBC), “It’s Okay, That’s Love” (2014/SBS), and “War of the Arrows” (2011).

Hantangang Global Geopark Center is 1.6 km from the Sky Bridge by car, approximately 2 minutes away, at 55 Bidulginang-gil, Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. If you want to learn about the background behind the Hantangang Geopark, spanning Pocheon, Yeoncheon, and Cheorwon, being officially designated a Global Geopark in 2020, it is suitable to include the center after visiting the bridge and waterfall.
