Sosa Naeum-gil is an 8.9km course on the Bucheon Cultural Trail that takes approximately 150 minutes, stretching from Sangol to Sosa Junction. It connects Geomasan and Seongjusan Mountain forests, the Pearl S. Buck Memorial Hall, Seongmujeong Pavilion, Bucheon Station, and Sosa Village, allowing visitors to experience both the ecology and the modern and contemporary history of Bucheon's original downtown.

An 8.9km East-West Crossing from Sangol to Sosa Junction, a 150-Minute Journey
Sosa Naeum-gil, guided by Bucheon-si, is an 8.9km course connecting Sangol – Geomasan Dulle-gil – Solanmal – Gipeunguji – Pearl Buck Rainbow Road (Pearl Buck Memorial Hall) – Seongmujeong – Bucheon Station – Jeong Ji-yong Hyangsu-gil – Sosa Village – Sosa Junction. While the official recommended time is 150 minutes, it is more realistic to allow 4 to 5 hours if you include a visit to the Pearl Buck Memorial Hall, a meal at the market, and time for photography.
Since it is a linear path moving from east to west rather than a circular route starting and ending at the same point, it is advisable to decide on your return station before walking. Starting from the Sangol side places more of the forest path at the beginning, while finishing towards the Sosa Junction makes it easier to exit into the living areas of Bucheon Station, Sosa Station, and Gyeongin-ro.

From Sosa Station in 1899 to Bucheon Station in 1974, a Road Retaining the Railway History of the Old City Center
The historical axis of this path begins with the opening of the Gyeongin Railway in 1899 and the establishment of Sosa Station at that time. According to Bucheon-si records, the name of Sosa Station was changed to the current Bucheon Station in 1974, and Sosa Naeum-gil is designed to follow the changes of the old city center accumulated around this railway and Gyeongin-ro.
Therefore, this course is more suitable for those who want to see the process of urban formation rather than those just looking for mountain trails. It connects modern historical and cultural sites around Seongmujeong, Yuhan Corporation, Pearl Buck Memorial Hall, and Jeong Ji-yong Hyangsu-gil, along with the character of Bucheon Station as Bucheon's first train station, within a single route.

The forest section of Sosa Naeum-gil continues from Geomasan to Seongjusan. Bucheon-si informs that amphibians like salamanders can be observed in this section, along with forest vegetation such as maple-leaf crabapple and birch trees. Since the condition of the dirt paths and slopes can change immediately after rain or during the winter freezing period, sneakers with non-slip soles are recommended.
Traces of rural villages remain in Solanmal, Gipeunguji, and Sosa Village, and there are old protected zelkova and ginkgo trees in Gipeunguji and Sosa Village. The area around Pearl Buck Rainbow Road and Seongmujeong, which passes through Seongjusan from east to west, is presented as a point where you can overlook the Bucheon city area.

Pearl Buck Rainbow Road is introduced as a path created by the residents of Simgokbon-dong around the memorial hall to remember the life of Pearl Buck. However, since the 2025 stamp tour is an event that has already ended, do not rely on past announcements for current stamp operations or souvenir offers; instead, inquire with the Contents Tourism Division at 032-625-9352 before departure.

Walking in Segments via Line 1 Jung-dong, Bucheon, and Sosa Stations and Buses 83 and 88
According to official information, various points of Sosa Naeum-gil can be accessed from Line 1 Jung-dong Station, Bucheon Station, and Sosa Station. Bus numbers 83 and 88, which pass through Gyeongin-ro, are also available. If completing the entire course feels burdensome, it is safer to walk in segments based on interest points, such as the forest path on the Sangol/Geomasan side, the area around Pearl Buck Memorial Hall and Seongmujeong, or the Bucheon Station, Jeong Ji-yong Hyangsu-gil, and Sosa Village section.
Bucheon-si notes that restrooms are convenient to use as various parts of the course are connected to park facilities. The entire path is not made up solely of pedestrian walkways and includes residential alleys and roadsides, so it is necessary to check your current location on a map app and follow pedestrian signals at crosswalks.
