The roots of Anseong Farmland lie in the Handok Demonstration Ranch, established in 1969. After being used as demonstration ranches for different livestock species and as Korea’s first organic livestock ranch, the site was operated as a large-scale livestock farm. Outdoor animal performances, flower fields, and seasonal water-play facilities are particularly subject to separate announcements, so it is safest to check the notice boards and announcements on the day of your visit.

Check the schedule first for feeding sheep, rabbits, and goats and watching livestock performances

Anseong City’s information states that visitors can encounter various animals, including Korean brindled cattle, bulls, donkeys, sheep, and geese. Feeding animals, experiential horseback riding, unusual bicycles, kite flying, archery, and children’s play facilities are introduced as the main programs. If getting close to the animals is your main purpose, it is efficient to check the livestock performance schedule and the location of feed sales immediately after entering.

A field-reporting article from April 2025 recorded scenes of feeding a baby goat, petting rabbits after feeding them in the rabbit enclosure, and a goose parade. However, the availability and times of animal releases and performances may vary depending on animal health management and weather. Canola in spring, cosmos and sunflowers in summer, and cosmos and pink muhly-related events in autumn have been publicized over the years, but the exact area, blooming period, and viewing routes may differ annually. Even when the flowers are not at their peak, the sense of openness and ranch routes across the 1.29-million-square-meter site remain. However, if your goal is photography only, visiting on a weekday morning after the blooming announcement is preferable.

Buses 50 and 70 from Anseong General Bus Terminal, and the final 2 km from Anseong IC

For public transportation, Anseong City’s tourism information suggests taking bus 50 or 70 from Anseong General Bus Terminal, getting off at Daerim-dongsan, and then taking a taxi. Walking time from Daerim-dongsan bus stop to the Farmland main gate is not officially fixed, so if you have luggage or a stroller, or are visiting for the first time, it is more realistic to plan on taking a taxi.

By car, the recommended route from Anseong IC on the Gyeongbu Expressway is to travel toward Anseong, turn right at the Nonghyup Education Center intersection, and continue for approximately 2 km. From the direction of Iljuk IC on the Jungbu Expressway, pass Dong-A Broadcasting College, the Terminal Intersection, and Chung-Ang University, then turn left at the Nonghyup Education Center intersection and continue for approximately 2 km. The official Kakao channel indicates that parking and wheelchair access are available, but parking fees and the location of accessible parking should be checked separately.

The official Kakao channel indicates that wheelchair use is possible, so visitors who use mobility aids are also accommodated. However, this is an outdoor ranch covering 1.29 million square meters, not an indoor museum. Paving conditions, slopes, the state of dirt paths after rain, and the distances between performance areas and flower fields vary by zone and weather. Before entering, it is advisable to ask the information center for accessible routes and restroom locations.

If you are bringing a stroller, entering at 17:00—one hour before closing—makes it difficult to enjoy both the animal experiences and the grassland walk. It is better to enter around the 10:00 opening, plan the performance and feeding times first, and schedule the flower fields or amusement facilities after lunch. A windproof outer layer, a hat for sun protection, and shoes that can get dirty will help with outdoor stays in every season.

For foreign visitors, a view of Korean agriculture; for travelers on a short itinerary, choose and focus

Unlike palace and museum itineraries in central Seoul, Anseong Farmland is a place to see Korea’s livestock and rural landscapes across expansive grasslands. A 2025 field report evaluated the scenery of flowers, fields, trees, and villages together as a space that offers foreign visitors a glimpse of the Korean countryside. Activities with low language dependence, such as feeding animals and watching the goose performance, are easy for first-time foreign visitors to join.

Conversely, it may not suit travelers seeking indoor exhibits, nighttime content, or short walking distances. Opening hours are 10:00–18:00, outdoor travel makes up a large part of the visit, and seasonal event and animal-performance times may change.
