164,887㎡ Rural Experience Theme Park Opened in June 2020

Geoje Forest Sound Park is a rural experience theme park developed across approximately 164,887㎡ around San 13, Seosang-ri, Geoje-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. Geoje City invested 12.7 billion won from 2012 and officially opened the park on June 19, 2020. Its central theme combines animals and plants through experiences and recreation, and it was planned together with the inland tourism area of Geoje-myeon, home to Geoje Botanical Garden's Jungle Dome.

The park includes a 4,764㎡ themed garden with 12,750 hydrangeas, a forest rest area planted with 158,000 red spider lilies, and Kids Land, which consists of adventure and sand playgrounds. Unlike Geoje trips centered on coastal scenery, this park uses the grasslands and forests along a sloping mountainside to arrange children's play areas and animal observation along one route.

Hours of Use: 09:00–18:00, Closed on Mondays, Lunar New Year's Day, and Chuseok

The park is open from 09:00 to 18:00 Tuesday through Sunday, with last admission at 17:00. It is closed every Monday, Lunar New Year's Day, and Chuseok, so if you are visiting during a holiday period, it is safest to check the official Instagram announcement again before your visit. Admission and parking are free.

The main contact number is 055-634-3733, and the official information channel is Instagram account geoje_ssoripark. The sheep-feeding experience costs an additional 2,000 won and should be planned separately from free park admission. Since animal-feed sales and facility operations may vary depending on the weather and on-site conditions, it is best to call and confirm on the day of departure.

  • Park: 09:00–18:00, last admission at 17:00
  • Closed: Every Monday, Lunar New Year's Day, and Chuseok
  • Admission: Free
  • Sheep-feeding experience: 2,000 won

What to See at the 9,622㎡ Sheep Ranch and 432㎡ Animal Experience Center

The main area is the 9,622㎡ livestock pasture. Sheep graze on the grassland, while sheep and rabbits are raised in the barn at the separate 432㎡ animal experience center. To take part in the feeding experience, purchase feed costing 2,000 won at the entrance. When children hold the feed, it is better to instruct them to place it on their open palms rather than hold it between their fingers.

It would be a shame to rush through only the animal experience. If you visit the themed garden's 12,750 hydrangeas, 158,000 red spider lilies, and adventure-style and sand playgrounds in sequence, allow at least 1 hour and 30 minutes; with the monorail, around 2 hours and 30 minutes is more realistic. Conversely, travelers seeking only a quiet walk may find weekend midday unsuitable, as this is when the children's play areas and experience waiting times are busiest.

Two 1,017 m, 16-Passenger Monorail Cars Replacing the Steep Route

The route up to the upper sheep ranch at Forest Sound Park is steep, so Geoje City installed a monorail to improve accessibility. After completing its completion inspection at the end of 2024, it began full operation in February 2025. The route is 1,017 m long. Two 16-passenger cars operate in the upward and downward directions at 15-minute intervals, and a round trip takes approximately 25 minutes.

The monorail reduces the need to travel along steep sections, making it particularly useful for families with strollers and visitors who find walking difficult. However, official information does not confirm whether wheelchairs can be accommodated or provide details on same-day operations and waiting times, so it is advisable to inquire in advance at 055-634-3733. The park's 2026 budget project also includes monorail operations and quarterly safety inspections.

Start with the 114-Space Parking Lot and Searching for “Forest Sound Park” in Your Navigation App

If you are driving, set “Forest Sound Park” as your navigation destination. The park parking lot covers 2,836㎡ and has a total of 114 spaces: 4 for large vehicles and 110 for small vehicles. Although both admission and parking are free, spaces in the closer areas tend to fill first on weekends and public holidays. If you plan to visit the animal-feeding experience and playgrounds together, arriving in the morning is advantageous.

For public transportation, the official tourism page only provides links to external route-finding services and does not give fixed information about stop names, bus numbers, or walking times. Foreign visitors coming for the first time, or travelers not using a rental car, should check the route from their departure point using Geoje's real-time city-bus routes or consider taking a taxi as well. Since a road-name address could not be separately confirmed, entering the lot-number address provided in the official tourism information—“San 13, Seosang-ri, Geoje-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do”—can help avoid confusion.

  • Parking: 114 spaces total, 4 for large vehicles and 110 for small vehicles
  • Parking fee: Free
  • Navigation search term: Forest Sound Park
  • Official lot-number address: San 13, Seosang-ri, Geoje-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

A Geoje-myeon Itinerary Combining Geoje Botanical Garden's Jungle Dome on the Same Day

The official tourism page for Forest Sound Park lists Geoje Botanical Garden and its Jungle Dome as nearby linked attractions. Geoje Botanical Garden is located at 3595 Geoje Namseo-ro, Geoje-myeon, Geoje-si. Visiting the indoor plants first and then seeing the sheep ranch and outdoor playgrounds at Forest Sound Park is a good arrangement for dealing with rain or strong sunlight.

The park management office covers 341.38㎡ and consists of a public service information office on the first floor and a cafeteria on the second floor. In emergencies, or when asking about lost items or routes with young children, this is a good place to start. Since the exact blooming conditions of the hydrangeas and red spider lilies, monorail waiting times, and animal-feed sales may vary depending on the season and on-site operations, it is better not to fix a photography schedule on the assumption that a particular flower will be in full bloom.

Visit Preparation After Visitor Numbers Surpassed 140,000 in 2025

In a press release issued in February 2026, Geoje City stated that Forest Sound Park set a record since opening by attracting more than 140,000 visitors in 2025. In January 2026, seven lambs were born, and a linked program was also operated that provided sheep-feeding experience tickets to Geoje Panorama Cable Car passengers. These events have conditions that vary by period and should not be regarded as permanent benefits.

Recent official videos introduce the monorail and family outing routes, which can help visitors understand the steep sections and facility layout in advance. Free admission is a major advantage, but separate costs may apply for the feeding experience, café, and monorail. It is therefore best to plan separate budgets for visitors who only intend to enter and those who also plan to take part in the experiences.
