A Rural Space Begun by Gochang County and Maeil Dairy in 2010

Sangha Farm began in 2010 when Gochang County and Maeil Dairy finalized their business investment. In 2011, artist Kim Beom and Professor Choi Jun-woong of Seoul National University joined the architectural design team, and in April of the same year, organic farm experience activities began.

In June 2012, test cultivation of Koshihikari rice began, followed by civil engineering work in December 2013. After pilot operations of the Farm Hall, Ham Workshop, and six other spaces in September 2015, all facilities at the farm opened in April 2016. Thus, the current layout centered on workshops and a farm was created as part of a development process intended to showcase production and hands-on experiences together.

How to Choose Where to Start Among the 22 Numbered Facilities

The official facility guide lists a total of 22 numbered facilities. Starting at 01 Farm Hall, Ticket Office, and Farmers Market near the entrance, you can connect production and dining in the order of 02 Fruit Workshop, 03 Bread Workshop, 04 Fermentation Workshop, 05 Sesame Oil Workshop, 07 Experience Classrooms A and B, 08 Farm Restaurant and Glasshouse, 09 Ham Workshop, and 10 Sangha Kitchen.

If animals and farms are your priority, visit 12 Animal Farm, 13 Experience Ranch, and 19 Sheep Ranch. If you are planning an overnight stay, distinguish between 14-1 Farmers Village Hotel, 15 Farmers Village Spa, 16 Farmers Village Swimming Pool, and 17 Farmers Glamping. 18 Kitchen Garden, 20 Gangseondal Reservoir Waterfront Deck, 21 Smart Farm (strawberries), and 22 Dolmen are also included in the facility list.

Admission Fees as of 2026 and Opening at 09:30

As confirmed for 2026, the farm is open year-round from 09:30 to 21:00. Individual admission is 9,000 won for adults and 6,000 won for children and seniors. The child and senior category applies to children aged 37 months to 12 years and people aged 70 or older. Gochang residents and infants under 36 months, among others, enter free, and admission is also free after 17:00.

Closing times vary by facility. The Farmers Market is open Monday to Thursday from 09:30 to 18:30 and Friday to Sunday from 09:30 to 19:00; the counter closes 30 minutes before closing. Sangha Kitchen operates from 09:30 to 18:00 but is marked as closed in July and August. The Farm Restaurant is open from 11:00 to 21:00, and the Sangha Farmers Cafe from 09:30 to 18:00.

The Experience Classrooms operate from 10:00 to 18:00, and the Experience Ranch from 09:30 to 18:00. Therefore, although you can walk around the farm using free admission after 17:00, little operating time may remain for the Experience Classrooms and Experience Ranch. Customer service consultation is available from 09:00 to 18:00 at 1522-3698.

50 km from Jeongeup Station, and Around Three Buses a Day from Gochang Culture Terminal

For travelers visiting Korea for the first time, Jeongeup Station can serve as a starting point by car. Sangha Farm’s official guide lists the distance from Jeongeup Station as 50 km, or approximately 50 minutes by car, and also recommends using the taxi stand in front of the station. Jeongeup Bus Terminal is a five-minute walk from Jeongeup Station.

From Gochang Culture Terminal, the distance is 26 km, or approximately 30 minutes by car. Buses bound for Gusipo run about three times a day, so intervals between departures are long. Sangha Farm is a 10-minute walk from the Gusipo bus stop. If you get off at Gusipo Samgeori by bus, turn left toward Maeil Dairy Sangha Plant and walk for 15 minutes.

As of January 2025, departure times from Gochang Culture Terminal are 06:10, 07:40, 09:20, 10:55, 12:40, 13:50, 15:30, 16:30, 17:50, and 19:10, with 19:10 being the last bus. Buses from Gusipo to Gochang Terminal are listed as departing at 07:10, 08:45, 10:20, 11:55, 14:15, 14:50, 16:35, 17:30, 16:30, 18:40, and 20:00, the last bus. Timetables may change frequently.

Searching for “Sangha Farm Parking Lot” Leads to Different Entrances

For private cars, the official directions recommend searching for “Sangha Farm Parking Lot” in your navigation system. Travel toward Gusipo, turn right at Maeil Dairy Sangha Plant, and continue 200 m to reach the Sangha Farm entrance. At the entrance, turn left for Sangha Farm Parking Lot 1 and right for Farmers Village Parking Lot 2.

Parking is free, and 13 spaces are separately designated for visitors with disabilities. The address is 11-23 Sanghafarm-gil, Sangha-myeon, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk State. The Farmers Village accommodation reservation number is 063-563-6611, and bus inquiries can be directed to Daehan Express Gochang Office at 063-564-3943~4.

In terms of accessibility, the site provides a ramp and automatic doors at the main entrance, level connections without thresholds, an accessible elevator, and accessible restrooms. Two wheelchairs and three strollers are available for free rental, so it is safer to contact customer service at 1522-3698 in advance if needed.

A Schedule for Catching Calf Milk Feeding and “Bongja” the Mini Pig

At the Animal Farm, visitors can feed and touch the animals directly, and “Bongja,” the mini pig, takes a walk every day. The Sheep Ranch is listed as having 30 sheep, making this a place where you should plan around feeding and observing animals rather than simple viewing.

Calf milk feeding at the Experience Ranch operates continuously. Mini-pig milk feeding takes place at 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, and 15:30. Feeding experiences cannot be reserved separately and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want a particular session, arrive early within the Experience Ranch’s operating hours of 09:30 to 18:00.

A 2024 travel review also mentioned that calf milk feeding took place at one-hour intervals and was limited to a certain number of participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Since the intervals differ between the official schedule and the review, it is more realistic to include an early time slot such as 09:30 or 11:30 in your itinerary rather than relying on only one session.

Mudflat Experiences Are for Ages 8 and Up and Last About One Hour with a Guardian

The mudflat experience at Sangha Farm lasts approximately one hour, and the recommended minimum age is 8. It should not be considered a program for children to attend alone; a guardian must accompany them.

Unlike the animal experiences, the mudflat experience specifies age and accompaniment requirements, so it should be scheduled as a separate program in a family itinerary. The Experience Classrooms operate from 10:00 to 18:00, and the Experience Ranch from 09:30 to 18:00. When planning several activities on the same day, arrange them according to each facility’s closing time.

A 2024 review stated that sightseeing and experiences can be combined into a one-day itinerary and that children enjoyed making sweet-potato bread. However, because each experience operates differently, distinguish in advance between calf milk feeding, which is first come, first served on site, and the mudflat experience, which requires a guardian.

Where Outside Food and Photography Are Restricted Within the Farm

Bringing in cooking equipment such as burners, chairs, and large picnic mats is restricted. Outside food, including packed lunches, takeout food, and alcoholic beverages, is also restricted except for baby food. Plan to eat at the Farm Restaurant from 11:00 to 21:00, the Sangha Farmers Cafe from 09:30 to 18:00, or the Farmers Market.

All areas of Sangha Farm are non-smoking, and the designated smoking area is behind the public restroom in the external parking lot. Feeding animals with food brought from outside and taking photographs with the flash on are also prohibited. Pets may not enter dining or experience facilities.

Unauthorized photography within the farm without prior consultation is prohibited, and violators may be asked to leave immediately. For photography inquiries, call 1522-3698. The availability of English information and audio guides, as well as current access restrictions for individual facilities, cannot be confirmed from this information alone. If you intend to photograph or visit a specific space, it is better to inquire during consultation hours, 09:00 to 18:00.

How to Plan a Day Visit and Overnight Stay Separately

According to reviews, seeing the farm and animals alone takes about one to two hours, while dining and experiences require additional time. If you want to include workshop activities, the Animal Farm, the Sheep Ranch, and a meal, it is best to enter in the morning and schedule experiences before 18:00 to match the operating hours.

If you want to stay overnight, accommodation facilities offering weddings, banquets, seminars, and experiences opened in July 2018. The current facility guide includes Farmers Village Hotel, Farmers Glamping, Farmers Village Spa, and a swimming pool. The Farmers Village reservation number is 063-563-6611.

If you plan to take the Sangha Ranch factory tour from Friday through Sunday, a 2024 review recommends making an advance reservation on the website. The official website is https://www.sanghafarm.co.kr/, and the farm operates its services jointly in partnership with Maeil Dairy.
