For the day of the week, a weekday visit from Tuesday to Friday is recommended. Weekends and public holidays can be busier because of family visitors. In particular, late morning to early afternoon is more likely to be crowded.

There is no nearby subway station. You cannot get there directly by subway alone, so first arrive at Jecheon Station or Jecheon Intercity Bus Terminal by train or express/intercity bus, then transfer to a bus.

By Bus

From Jecheon Station or Jecheon Intercity Bus Terminal, take bus 950, 961, 971, or 982 and get off at the Cheongpung-myeon Office stop.

Tip: Since public transport is not very frequent, it is also helpful to check your return bus time in advance.

• Plaza in front of the lower station (Multae-ri Station): A good place to capture both the cable car cabins coming and going and the lake in the background. Shoot while facing Cheongpung Lake. From morning to early afternoon, the light is relatively even and photos come out clear.
• Inside the cabin during the ride: Along the 2.3 km route up to the summit, you can capture a wide view of Cheongpung Lake and the mountain ridges. Stand as close to the window as possible and shoot diagonally toward the lake. On clear days, daytime offers the best visibility.
• Viewing area near the summit arrival point: This is a representative spot for taking portrait photos with the 360-degree landscape as a backdrop. Find a direction where both the lake and mountains are visible, and shoot from the front or side. Late afternoon adds more depth to the scenery.
• Lake-facing direction at the summit lookout point: This is a great spot for panoramic photos facing the widest view of Cheongpung Lake. Keep the camera level and frame the lake broadly. On clear afternoons, the colors are at their sharpest.
• Fantasy Museum (nearby combined photo spot): A fun place to take travel photos using trick art and optical illusion art. If you shoot from the front according to the artwork instructions, the effect comes out well. Since it is indoors, it is less affected by time of day and is recommended as an alternative when the weather is not good.

Night View

Cheongpung Lake Cable Car is a great place to go up comfortably to the summit of Bibongsan after sunset and enjoy Jecheon’s night view. The summit area is lit up, creating an even more atmospheric setting, and the lights around Cheongpung Lake and the mountain ridges make it well suited for photography.

In particular, it has recently become known as one of Jecheon’s signature night-view spots, and the walking path along the deck features luminaria installations reminiscent of a European castle, making for a pleasant night stroll.

The boarding area is on the 4th floor of the cable car building, so after arriving at the parking lot (B1) or the 1st floor, go up to the 4th floor.

Your ticket can be used after your visit as well. If you keep your boarding ticket, admission to the Uirimji History Museum is free.

In addition, your boarding ticket can be used like cash at about 4,000 participating shops in Jecheon.
