Yongin Hoam Museum of Art, Started with Lee Byung-chul Collection in 1982

Hoam Museum of Art opened in 1982 based on Korean art pieces collected by Samsung founder Hoam Lee Byung-chul over approximately 30 years. In the early days, it hosted exhibitions of overseas modern and contemporary art, such as the <Henry Moore Exhibition> held from July 1 to August 15, 1982, but the central axis of the venue lies in its collection including Korean paintings, ceramics, metal crafts, and Buddhist art.

‘Hoam’ is a name derived from Lee Byung-chul's pen name. Because the museum building and gardens are arranged against the backdrop of the mountains and lakes in the Everland area of Pogok-eup, Yongin, it is not suitable for a schedule of just quickly viewing indoor exhibitions. Beopyeonji Pond and Hoamjeong Pavilion in Heewon Garden, Appreciation Beyond the Exhibition Hall
