Songdo Sky Park has a ticket office, boarding platform, and convenience store on the first floor, while the second floor contains Ocean Terrace and Cafe Human Art Hall. The third-floor Sky Harbor Observatory offers views toward Songdo Beach, Amnam Park, and Yeongdo, along with the cable car route. If no separate admission fee for entering the cable car station itself is clearly available, do not assume that entry is free; instead, prepare your budget based on the facilities that require paid tickets.

Walk five more minutes to Amnam Park instead of stopping at the third-floor Sky Harbor

The third floor of Songdo Sky Park contains the Sky Harbor Observatory and Ocean Terrace, while Park Square on the first floor has Dino Adventure, Snail Garden, and wish-related installations. Dino Adventure is a space themed around enormous dinosaur sculptures, while Snail Garden centers on a snail sculpture with a clock running backward. Allowing 40–60 minutes for photos and views along the combined indoor and outdoor route is reasonable; adding the cable car round trip brings the total to around 1 hour 30 minutes.

The upper station leads directly to Amnam Park. According to Busan City information, Amnam Park was designated a natural park in 1972 and was opened to the public in 1996 after having been restricted as a military protection zone. A walk around the park takes about one hour, and the walk from Sky Park to the park entrance is listed as approximately five minutes. Therefore, rather than simply riding the cable car and returning, it is worthwhile to continue to Amnam Park or the Songdo Yonggung Cloud Bridge in sneakers to better understand the terrain of the area.

Why Amnam Park lies on strata formed approximately 70–80 million years ago

The reason Sky Park is more than simply an upper station lies in the coastal terrain of Amnam Park just behind it. In other words, the coast viewed from Sky Park is not merely a landscape shaped by beach development; it is a place where Cretaceous strata, modern tourism development, and the lifting of military protection restrictions overlap.

How to get there by buses 6, 26, 30, 71, or 96 from Exit 2 of Jagalchi Station

It is not possible to reach the front of Sky Park by subway alone. From Exit 2 of Jagalchi Station on Busan Metro Line 1, walk to the Chungmudong Intersection bus stop, then take bus 6, 26, 30, 71, 96, or 96-1 and get off at the Amnam-dong Community Center stop, followed by a walk of approximately 10 minutes. Other official information also lists buses 7, 26, 71, and 96 as stopping at the Amnam Park stop, so it is advisable to cross-check both the stop and route in a real-time bus app before departure.

When traveling by car, set the destination as “Songdo Sky Park” or “Amnam Park Public Parking Lot.” The nearby Amnam Park Public Parking Lot is paid, and information indicates that free parking benefits for cable car passengers do not apply. Public transportation may be preferable to parking on some days, but if you are traveling with a stroller or mobility aid, consider the slopes and outdoor route from the parking lot to the upper station. A 2-hour-30-minute course including Yonggung Cloud Bridge and Songdo Coastal Trail

From Songdo Sky Park, choose the route toward Amnam Park to extend your itinerary to the Songdo Yonggung Cloud Bridge. This section involves walking directly along sea breezes and exposed coastal terrain, so sneakers with good slip resistance are preferable to sandals or high-heeled shoes. Busan City’s park information lists the area of Amnam Park as 535,841 m², and taking in the forest paths, observatories, and coastal cliffs naturally requires more than an hour.

If you instead descend toward Songdo Beach, the Songdo Coastal Trail is listed as approximately 0.8 km and an average of 20 minutes. This route connecting Songdo Beach and Amnam Park has three observatories, a suspension bridge, and fishing spots beneath the walkway. If you are visiting only the cable car and observatory, the period around sunset may be visually appealing, but when combining them with Amnam Park and the Yonggung Cloud Bridge, it is better to arrive at the upper station in the morning or early afternoon and complete the outdoor route first.

It is easy to confuse a “free park walk” with a “paid cable car experience” at this destination. You can visit Amnam Park without riding the cable car, and you can also ride the cable car without taking a walk through the park. Visitors who fear heights or have difficulty walking may realistically choose to ride a regular cabin and visit only the viewing areas inside the station. If multiple stairs and outdoor slopes would be burdensome, extending the route to the Yonggung Cloud Bridge may not be suitable.
