Close to the Haeundae area, it symbolically showcases Busan’s image as a seaside city, and you can also experience nearby cultural elements such as the Street of Cinema. Best Time to Visit

Marine City is best visited in spring. The weather is relatively mild and it is easy to get around, and especially around the cherry blossom season, the atmosphere is pleasant. However, since visitor numbers can increase during this period, weekdays are better if you want to avoid crowds.

Within the day, early morning or late evening is most comfortable. In the morning, there are fewer people and movement is easier, while at night Busan’s city roads are less congested than during the day, so travel time by car tends to be much shorter.

For the day of the week, weekdays such as Tuesday through Thursday are recommended over weekends. Since congestion can rise on weekends and during the cherry blossom season, a weekday morning is the best choice if you want a quieter visit.

How Long to Stay

If you want to do a light visit of Marine City only, 30 minutes to 1 hour is enough, and if you include a coastal walk and scenic viewing, 1 to 2 hours is appropriate. If you plan to visit Haeundae and nearby attractions together, it is best to allow about half a day to one full day (around 4 to 8 hours), including travel time.

How to Get There

Marine City is in Haeundae-gu, Busan, and for foreign travelers, using the subway together with the bus is the most convenient method.

Subway

You can get there from Dongbaek Station or Haeundae Station on Busan Metro Line 2.

• Dongbaek Station: After leaving the station, walk toward Marine City; it is relatively close. From the station exit, follow the route toward the shoreline and high-rise buildings.
• Haeundae Station: Exit toward Haeundae Beach, then head to Marine City. You can walk along the beach or transfer to a bus.

Bus

The main buses that pass near Marine City 3-ro are 1003, 139, 307.

• Bus 1003: Get off at the Haeundae Beach entrance stop, then head toward Marine City
• Bus 139: A regular bus convenient for access near Marine City
• Bus 307: You can use the stop near Marine City 3-ro

If you are departing from Busan Station, you can use the bus stop near the plaza at Busan Station Exit 7. Bus 1003 is an express bus, so you can travel relatively quickly.

On Foot

If you get off at Dongbaek Station or the Haeundae Beach entrance, it is possible to walk. The high-rise buildings of Marine City and the coastal promenade are easy to see, so it is not difficult to find your way. Searching for "Marine City" or "Marine City 3-ro" in a map app is convenient.

Photo Spots

• Waterside promenade next to The Bay 101: This is the most famous place for reflection shots of the Marine City skyline. Go to the seaside promenade next to the The Bay 101 building and take photos facing the Marine City high-rise buildings. From sunset to nighttime is best, and on days with light wind, the water reflections are especially clear.
• Use only the open pedestrian area near The Bay 101: There may be some restricted access areas near the open space in front of the parking lot, so do not go inside the barricades. For safe photography, it is better to stand on the open promenade, avoid having the sea behind you, and frame both the water and the buildings together. Night view hours are recommended.
• Eastern end of Haeundae Beach: If you point your camera toward Marine City instead of the west from the beach, you can capture the sea, city, and night view together. If you want a wide scene, shoot from the edge of the beach. From just after sunset until night is best.

Night View

Marine City is one of Busan’s representative night-view spots, and when night falls, the lights from the high-rise buildings reflect on the sea and create a dazzling skyline. In particular, because of the lights reflected on the water, it is very famous as a photography location.

The best viewing points are around Dongbaekseom and the Yacht Stadium area. From Dongbaekseom, you can enjoy not only the forest of Marine City’s buildings but also the night view of Gwangan Bridge, making it a great place to experience Busan’s nighttime scenery.

The recommended time is from just after sunset until around 10 p.m. The building lights are at their clearest, and it is also a comfortable time for strolling and enjoying the atmosphere. At night, sea breezes can blow, so it is a good idea to bring a light outer layer.

The atmosphere is refined and romantic, making it suitable for a quiet walk or night-view photography. It is not necessarily a place where special night events are always held, but the nighttime atmosphere of the surrounding beach and city center itself is a major attraction.

Seasonal Guide

Marine City changes dramatically with the seasons. If you choose your visit time around the sea views and promenade, you will be more satisfied.

Spring (March to May)

During cherry blossom season, the surrounding walking paths and park atmosphere are especially beautiful. The weather is mild and good for walking, but there may be days with fine dust, so it is a good idea to bring a mask. A light jacket will be comfortable in the morning and evening.

Summer (June to August)

This is the season when you can enjoy the blue sea and beach scenery most fully. The sea breeze is refreshing, but overall it is hot and humid, and you may be affected by the rainy season and typhoons. Outdoor activities are best in the morning or around sunset, and an umbrella, sunscreen, and water are essential.

Autumn (September to November)

This is considered the best season for travel. The humidity is low and the sky is clear, making it ideal for walking and photography. With the addition of autumn foliage, the sea and city scenery look beautiful together. It is pleasant during the day, but evenings can be chilly, so a thin outer layer is useful.

Winter (December to February)

Although the temperature is low, there are relatively many clear days, so it is nice to enjoy the atmosphere of the winter sea. During the year-end and New Year period, the illuminations and night views are especially attractive. Since the sea breeze can feel strong, prepare a thick coat and windproof clothing.

Recommended season: If you want pleasant weather, choose autumn; if you want flowers and walks, choose spring; if you want sea activities and a lively atmosphere, choose summer; if you want night views and a quiet mood, choose winter.

Local Tips

On holidays or days with heavy traffic, using National Route 14 (toward Gijang and Ulsan) or National Route 31 instead of the highway may be easier.

When the Haeundae area is crowded, consider Songjeong Beach, which has a more relaxed atmosphere, as an alternative.

If you want to see a different side of Busan along with your visit to Haeundae and Marine City, it is also a good idea to include Huinnyeoul Culture Village or Jeonpo Cafe Street in your itinerary.
