Seoul Buzzes on BTS Jungkook’s Birthday… 96 Billboards to Become “Jungkook Zones”

Seoul is being transformed into a “Jungkook Zone” throughout the city to celebrate BTS member Jungkook’s birthday.

Ahead of Jungkook’s birthday on September 1, fans from Korea and abroad have prepared large-scale birthday advertisements centered around major downtown areas and subway stations in Seoul. In Seoul alone, 35 large outdoor digital billboards and 61 subway advertising panels will be used.

The Chinese fan club “Jungkook China” will broadcast birthday celebration videos on September 1 via large digital billboards installed at seven locations in downtown Seoul, including Sincheon, Seoul Station, Myeong-dong, Hongdae, Yeouido, and Gangnam. The videos will feature Jungkook along with the message, “Jungkook, happy birthday.”

The Myeong-dong area will also be filled with birthday advertisements for Jungkook. “HAPPY JUNGKOOK DAY” advertisements are scheduled to appear on 26 pillars, a total of 52 display surfaces, along Myeong-dong’s main street, as well as on large MegaVision digital billboards.

Large-scale birthday projects are also underway overseas. On September 1, “Jungkook China” will broadcast birthday videos 576 times in one day on the TSX Live billboard in Times Square, New York, United States. In addition, birthday advertisements will run from August 17 to September 13 at bus stops near SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, United States, and on three large outdoor billboards.

Celebrations by domestic fans are continuing as well. From the 26th through September 1, fan “Mokkumokku” will present birthday advertisements on 54 digital advertising panels installed at 24 stations on Seoul Subway Lines 2, 3, and 4, including City Hall, Euljiro 1-ga, Wangsimni, Konkuk University, Jamsil, Gangnam, Hongik University, Sinchon, and Express Bus Terminal.

Jungkook’s birthday advertisements will continue through September 6 at the taxi shelter in front of the HYBE headquarters, and from the 26th through September 1 on the digital billboard at Mirae Plaza near Hongik University Station.

Other fans are expanding the celebration to Konkuk University, Hongdae, and Incheon International Airport. The fan account “Amina” will broadcast birthday videos from the 29th through September 4 on four LED billboards near Konkuk University’s Star City Mall and at Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Station. “To_jungkook.97” will run birthday advertisements from the 30th through September 5 on the concourse of Hongik University Station and on a digital billboard in the central section of the Airport Railroad transfer passage.

Accordingly, around Jungkook’s birthday, 35 large outdoor digital billboards and 61 subway advertising panels throughout Seoul are expected to be filled with fans’ congratulatory messages.
