Rosé: “I asked myself, ‘Can I trust my own voice?’” [Photo Spread]

BLACKPINK's Rosé revealed the emotions she experienced while preparing her new album.

Rosé graces the cover of ELLE's September special edition. In this cover shoot, Rosé showcased her signature feminine yet bold charm.

In an interview following the pictorial shoot, Rosé candidly discussed her concerns and changes while deeply immersed in work on her new album, as well as her increasingly profound inner self.

She said that, following her first full-length album ‘rosie,’ she is once again working on a new album in the middle of summer. “This time, I’m working in Korea, and I think the time I’ve spent enduring this incredible humidity will remain like a scene from the new album,” she said.

Looking back on the past two years, Rosé said, “It was a period of continually asking myself, ‘Can I trust my voice? Can I trust myself?’ and proving it. In the end, I reached the conclusion that the answer is to listen carefully to what my heart says, trust it, and move forward. I can now acknowledge and embrace even my weak and inadequate parts.”

She also said, “Right now, I find the process itself of continually figuring out whether I’m someone who tells personal stories or someone who creates the world I want to express to be fascinating,” explaining that she is shaping her direction as an artist.

She also spoke about her changed attitude toward life. Rosé said, “I used to be a workaholic and considered time spent doing nothing meaningless, but now I think it’s okay to lie on the sofa and rest or take time to dry my hair slowly,” adding, “There are truly so many big and small joys in the world, and I want to tell myself that it’s okay to fully enjoy the life I’ve been given right now.”

Meanwhile, Rosé debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016 and earned widespread love through numerous hit songs, including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU,’ ‘Playing with Fire,’ ‘Jump,’ and ‘GO!’ She has pursued solo activities alongside her group work since 2021 and gained global popularity with ‘APT.,’ released in 2024.
