Seoul Street Arts Festival

The 2026 Seoul Street Arts Festival will be held from Saturday, September 19 to Sunday, September 20. The venues are Ttukseom Hangang Park and Seoul Forest. No separate admission fee has been announced for 2026, but the 2025 registration information listed it as free. Some programs may require advance registration, although the detailed 2026 booking channels and eligible programs have not yet been announced. Unlike the October 6–8, 2025 edition, the 2026 festival will expand to the Han River and use both venues.

The 2026 Seoul Street Arts Festival expands to 20 performances from five countries

In 2026, 20 performances are scheduled in total: nine international works from France, Lithuania, Chile, Slovenia, and Brazil, along with 11 domestic works. Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, the festival will feature not only performances but also citizen-participation programs at both venues.

The 2025 edition was held from October 6 to 8 and was free. This 2026 edition will run for two days, from September 19 to 20, with the biggest change being the expansion of the venues to Ttukseom Hangang Park and Seoul Forest.

The festival began in 2003 as the “Hi Seoul Festival” and has used its current name, “Seoul Street Arts Festival,” since 2016. The cumulative number of visitors since 2016 is reported to be approximately 35 million.

Separate from the previously introduced 2025 photographs, the 2024 photo materials retain work titles such as “Kkwaejina Changchang Nane,” “Mobility,” “Wheels&Cello,” and “Tei Tei.” The complete 2026 schedule by work and the detailed list of all 20 performances have not yet been released together, so previous-edition works should not be mistaken for this year’s schedule.

Save the two venues, Ttukseom Hangang Park and Seoul Forest, on your map first

The official 2026 venues are Ttukseom Hangang Park and Seoul Forest. The road-name address listed in the event information is 27 Jayangbeonyeong-ro 5-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and it is safest to enter Jayangbeonyeong-ro 5-gil on your map as well.

The 2025 Korea Tourism Organization registration information listed both 1 Taepyeong-ro 1-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, and 27 Jayangbeonyeong-ro 5-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Since the two venue names are officially presented for 2026, do not use the 2025 addresses unchanged as your destinations; check this year’s detailed map first.

Walking times from stations and terminals to the venues, bus routes, temporary shuttles, and traffic-control information for 2026 have not yet been released. Operating hours are also undecided on the official foundation page, while the introductory materials assume that the festival will operate from morning until night.

A 7-meter giraffe parade is scheduled for the evening, so you should consider the last train or bus, but no end time has been announced. Therefore, the current conclusion is not to assume that a same-day trip is confirmed; even if you book accommodation in Seoul, it is better to decide your return time after the detailed schedule is released.

Choose the 7-meter giraffe and the 50-minute “Jokake Nun” performance

In the evening of 2026, a parade combining a 7-meter-tall giant giraffe with circus and opera is scheduled. During the day, the festival route will include Art Trekking, a children’s EDM party, the citizen competition “Dance the Rak (樂),” hands-on programs, and exhibitions.

“Jokake Nun” will begin at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on September 20, 2026, at the Ground Golf Course at Ttukseom Hangang Park. Since each session lasts 50 minutes, it is easy to choose one of the two sessions and arrange another performance or Art Trekking around it.

“Jokake Nun” is a street-art and traditional performance based on pansori and jeongga. It is directed by Lee In-bo, choreographed by Shim Ju-young, with stage design by Lee Hwi-soon and sound direction by Kim Gyu-sik. Singers Shin Yu-jin, Lee Hye-jin, and Gu Min-ji participate, and Liquid Sound, the group producing this work, was founded in 2015.

“Jokake Nun” includes dialogue, but it is presented as accessible even to those who do not know the language. Music and sound are important elements in understanding the work. However, information on English signs, English leaflets, and interpretation services for 2026 has not been found in the published materials, and costs beyond the performance and on-site payment methods are also unknown.

Travelers for whom the Seoul Street Arts Festival 2026’s two outdoor stages may not be suitable

The work-by-work schedule and detailed list of all 20 performances for 2026 have not yet been fully released. Current information is better suited to travelers who move between the two venues and choose from the performances available, rather than those who select one work and plan their visit around assigned seating.

The travel route between Ttukseom Hangang Park and Seoul Forest, as well as ramps and viewing areas for stroller and wheelchair users, has not been confirmed in the 2026 materials. Travelers requiring mobility assistance should avoid finalizing their accommodation and viewing locations before the on-site route map is released.

Travelers who require English guidance may find the language information for individual works insufficient. For those unable to return late at night, the evening parade and undecided closing time may also be limiting. Parking locations and fees, along with rainy-weather operation, cancellation, and refund policies for 2026, have not been announced.
