Seoul Light DDP 2026 Autumn will be held from September 3 to September 13, 2026, across the front façade and surrounding area of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), located at 281 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Admission is free, and whether advance reservations or ticketing are required has not been confirmed in the 2026 public information. The event runs daily from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. In addition to the momentum of the 2025 11-day event, which attracted approximately 610,000 visitors, this year’s program presents live performances and real-time interactive media art under the themes “DAYBREAKER” and “K-Original Light.”

What changed from 610,000 visitors in 2025 to “K-Original Light” in 2026

Seoul Light DDP Autumn 2025 was held for 11 days from August 28 to September 7 and attracted approximately 610,000 visitors. The 2026 edition also lasts 11 days, from September 3 to September 13, but this year the autumn event is being presented first among three festivals continuing through autumn, winter, and the countdown celebration.

In 2025, the entire 222-meter exterior wall of DDP was used as a media-art canvas, and in 2026 the 222-meter front façade will again serve as a media-facade stage. The key change is in the content rather than the location: this year, the theme “K-Original Light” connects the works of Nam June Paik and Yoo Youngkuk, as well as the Korean alphabet, with media art and live stages.

According to 2025 reports, Seoul Light DDP was listed in the Guinness World Records as the “world’s largest 3D mapping display on an atypical building,” and a survey found that 96% of visitors gave positive satisfaction ratings. The 2026 event retains the scale of the exterior wall while adding new live performances and real-time interactive media art under the overarching theme “DAYBREAKER.”

Save the address first for reaching DDP’s 222-meter exterior wall

The event takes place on the front façade and surrounding area of Dongdaemun Design Plaza. In a map app, enter “281 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul” or “Euljiro 7-ga.” Since both the event address and the actual viewing area refer to DDP’s front façade, plan to head toward the exterior wall rather than the exhibition halls inside the building.

The nearest subway station and exit, bus stop numbers, walking time to the site, and shuttle service have not been confirmed in the 2026 public information. Parking locations and fees, as well as alternative parking lots when the main lot is full, have also not been announced. If traveling by car, it is safer to save a public-transit route in your map app in advance rather than rely on the address and expect to find a parking space.

The event ends at 10:30 p.m. every day. Although the last-train times and return journey times by route cannot be specified, this is a nighttime event in central Seoul and ends at 10:30 p.m., so it can be planned as a same-day outing based on accommodation in Seoul.

IDIOTAPE and three media facades on September 3

From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily, visitors can see media facades and laser art projected onto the 222-meter exterior wall. The media-facade program consists of “The Break Point” Nam June Paik × Birthday, “Finding the Mountain Within Me” Yoo Youngkuk × Kwon Ha-youn, and “A Night When Words Shine” Cheonggu eon × Two Gray. The laser-art title is “Passing Through the Light of the Future, the Resonance of Time.”

The live schedule varies by date. IDIOTAPE is scheduled for September 3, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:40 p.m.; SION is scheduled for September 4 and 5 from 8:20 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and HYPNOSIS THERAPY is scheduled for September 6 and 12 from 8:20 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The exact performance time for Soulscape, which has been introduced as one of the participating acts, has not yet been confirmed.

Light, sound, lasers, and real-time interactive media art can be enjoyed by following the scenes themselves even without knowing Korean. However, works based on the Korean alphabet and Cheonggu eon, such as “A Night When Words Shine,” can be interpreted more specifically when viewers understand the Korean-language context.

SNS follow events and attendance-verification events will be held, and an opening-ceremony merchandise event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to see a live performance on its scheduled date, choose one of September 3, 4, 5, 6, or 12. If you only want to see the media facades and laser art, visit any day during operating hours.

Seoul Light DDP 2026’s 10:30 p.m. closing time

The nighttime media art, laser displays, and live stages held on DDP’s front façade may not suit travelers seeking only quiet indoor artwork viewing. In particular, visitors who want to watch a live performance must choose a date with a show in the 8 p.m. hour, and the entire event ends at 10:30 p.m. daily.

English-language information and interpretation, wheelchair and stroller accessibility, and the 2026 operating, cancellation, and refund policies in case of rain were not found in the public information. Travelers who require English explanations or mobility assistance may find it difficult to finalize an on-site visit until this information is announced.

Food stalls, card and cash payment methods, and the locations of restrooms and luggage storage are also not listed in the 2026 public information. Details about cleanliness and safety management have likewise not been confirmed, so this article alone cannot be used to assess the level of on-site amenities.

Before departing, confirm these operational details by calling 02-2153-0000, and separately calculate the last-train route to your accommodation after 10:30 p.m. in a map app.
